(Lee's POV)

She wasn't a little girl anymore. My Clemetine, the one who I left when she was a first-grader, was now an adult. A year younger than me. From what she told me, they made some cure that brings Walkers, ones that weren't torn, and bring them back to life.
Doesn't a Walker rot though? I still don't understand this world, but she told me that twenty years have passed by. I barely woke up three days ago. I touched Clem's cheek, "We're gonna stay together this time, I promise."
She nodded and hugged me, tears flowing down into my shirt. We heard the Walkers coming closer. We knew we had to leave. Clementine looked around the house one last time.
She grabbed all her supplies and weapons. She tossed me a knife and ammo for my pistol. I was going to leave the machine gun, since the metal was now melted and it was completely useless.
We walked into her backyard and looked around. She leaned against a tree, "The best thing we can do for now is leave Savannah and find somewhere else." She concluded. The first place that popped into my mind was Hershel's farm, but that place was probably overrun by now.
Plus, Hershel may still be really pissed about Shawn, or dead. Clementine took out a piece of paper out of her back pocket and unfolded it onto the concrete, it was a map of Savannah and the countryside.
She pointed to a certain spot on the map, "There's a farm not to far from here. If we leave soon, we could make it there before the sun sets." Could it be Hershel's?
Clementine looked up at me, "If you're thinking of Hershel, his family left. I went there when the
apocalypse was over. Shawn... He turned into a Walker. I had to... Kill him. Hershel and his wife left, leaving a note and that was all. It was actually a note to you, Lee."
She took out a piece of paper from her backpack and handed it to me. I opened the note and read it quickly while Clementine guarded.

Lee,
I am sorry for making you and Clementine leave the farm, but I was furious. Losing Shawn... My pride and joy... Was too depressing. My wife and I have to leave the farm. Shawn was right, we should've reinforced the fence, but I was too naïve and didn't listen, and that costed me my son's life. Lee, don't make the same mistake I did with Shawn. Clementine is a good girl, and she'll grow up to be a wonderful woman. Keep her safe.
-Hershel

I smiled and put the note away in my back pocket. Clementine looked at me and unsheathed her just-sharpened katana. I noticed she put the map away and had her gun sticking out in her boot, ready for emergencies.
She had one hand on the katana and the other on her hip, "Ready to leave, Lee?" She asked. I nodded, still not use to the grown-up version of Clementine. She jumped over the fence, waiting for me on the other side.
I jumped over as well, and stood beside her. We walked into the field, not knowing how this apocalypse will turn out, and not knowing who would survive.
