Chapter Three

As the days passed, Winter turned into spring. Three weeks passed before hearing anything from Levi, not a video, not a tweet, not even a status update. Mel and I were getting anxious to hear from him. We were trying to be patient, but it was hard. Then one day, Mel and I were just walking around our small park near the apartments, when Mel's phone chirped. Mel looked at her phone, and while I thought that it was just another text from one of her friends, Mel looked at her phone and abruptly stopped walking. Her eyes got really wide, and a grin from ear to ear spread across her face.

"What is it, Mel?" I asked, trying to get her attention.

"It's Levi! He just tweeted that he posted a video on youtube concerning the people who sent in a survey!" My mouth dropped wide open, and my mind started to race.

"Then what are we standing her for? We have to go see what it was!" I yelled in reply, as I grabbed her arm and started running for our apartment.Mel almost got clipped by a car backing out, and Mel Yelled "Sorry! We're In a hurry!", and she started sprinting ahead of me. We reached our apartment, unlocked the door, and raced for the laptop on the table. Mel opened it and turned it on. She logged onto youtube with lightning speed, and clicked on his youtube video titled "SURVEYS". The video opened with Levi rubbing his head and talking about how many surveys he got, which was very vast because of his many subscribers.

"I have gone through most of the surveys, and picked out a few that are my top choices. I'm almost done going through them all, but it's taking up a lot of my time. Thank you all for being patient. I would also like to add that I am, suprisingly, getting a lot of surveys from other countries. It's just mind boggling to think that someone would want to spend that money just to have a day with me, so, I would like to give you out-of-country-surveyers the opportunity to spend the night in my flat with me and my flat mate. We have a spare bedroom in our flat, and I thought about how difficult it would be to fly into London for only one day. You wouldn't get much time, and I was planning on showing a lot of the sights to whoever wins. This needs time. So, I'm offering a place to sleep for a night. Maybe even two, depending on just how far you are. Well, thank you all for sending in your lovely surveys, I should be done reading over the rest in about a week. Thanks!" The video stopped. We just sat there, open mouthed, our faces showing our shock. Melanie shut the laptop, then slowly rose out of her chair.

"Oh...My....GOSH!" She said, before jumping up and down and screaming, "How perfect would that be, Sarah?!" She asked. She was starting to dance dramatically, and I thought she was going to break something in the apartment.

"Hey, calm down there Mel, you wouldn't want to get hurt before our big trip" I giggled. "By the way," I asked, "How much money have you saved up for our trip?" I asked.

"Well, keep in mind gas prices have been going up lately. And Mr.Henry's vet appointment wasn't cheap. Not to mention we both wanted that magazine subscription, or that extra-"

"Mel." I interrupted.

"Ok, ok. Twenty dollars."

Twenty dollars?!

I thought, Even I've saved up more than that!

"Wow...Well, your twenty dollars plus my fifty dollars comes up to 70 dollars makes the amount we need go down to 3030" I sighed.

"I'm sorry, Sarah. I feel like i've let you down. I'm the one who wants to go visit him the most, and I cant even save up 50 dollars." she said remorsefully.

"Hey, Its all right. Dont worry about it. I've only saved up fifty, not very much more. You remember what you kept telling me; that God will provide." A lame attempt at encouraging her, but at least I tried. Its hard to encourage someone when you need encouragment too.

"I know. Focus on the positive. Only about one more week and we should know wether we've won or not!" She said, starting to perk up.

"It's probably going to go by so slowly.." I said.

"You have no idea." Said Melanie.
