Chapter 14

Beth P.O.V.

There were new windows, new paint and repairs in the rooms that were destroyed were finished. Everything was perfect, except Joe wasn't here. I was unlike I wasn't myself. I wasn't butting into conversations, bouncing around, smile on my face. I could barely draw, my past time. It was so hard for me to do anything and feel complete. The boys and girls were a little off. Everyone was waiting for Joe to wake up.

"Beth!" Netty called.
"In here!" I called back. I was staring at a blank piece of paper. I was lost at figuring out what to draw.
"I was just going out to the hospital to check on Joe. I was wondering if you'd like to come?" I nodded. I slipped on some flats my phone and purse as well. Netty grabbed car keys.
"Guys! Beth and I are going to check on Joe, we'll be back in a hour or so!" Netty called.
"Ok!" Amy called back.
"Have fun!" Lee called. Netty chuckled at that before we walked out.

Joseph P.O.V.

Beep beep beep. "What's that?" I thought. Then the steady pace let me to figure out it was a heart monitor. I thought for a little bit. Why was there I heart monitor? Then I remembered the boom, pulling Beth into my chest, then getting thrown.
I opened my eyes to see doctors rejoicing that I was awake. There was a lot of commotion. I just wanted to see Beth. I took the remote and lifted up my bed a little bit. My head hurt a little and my heart ached to see Beth. Just then the door swung open.

Beth P.O.V.

Netty went to the front desk and I hung back a bit. Going back to this place just made me want to see Joe more.
"Beth!" Netty said half yelling.
"What?" I asked confused at why she was so happy.
"He awake and accepting visitors!" She started to full out yell. I gasped and we took off sprinting. I felt tears sting my eyes and started falling down my cheeks. I ran into the room. Joe was there and his face lot up when he saw me.
"Joe!" I ran into his arms. He laughed a we hugged.
"I'm here Beth." He laughed. "Don't worry. I smiled and buried my head into his chest feeling my tears of relief fall faster. I felt his hand stroke my back and I started to calm down.
"You had me so worried." I whispered into his ear.
"It's ok, I'm here now." He said pulling a stray hair out of my face and tucking it behind my ear. I blushed a little and leaned in to kiss his cheek, but then he moved causing me to kiss his lips. When we pulled apart I giggled.
"You did that on purpose didn't you?" I asked pretend scolding him.
"Yes." He said in a kiddy voice looking down. I laughed and he joined in.
"I love you." I whispered to him when our laughter died down.
"I love you too." He said kissing my cheek. I smiled and blushed. I was so glad to have him as mine again.
