I stared at Jayden's back as he lay on his bed. How could he tell me something like that and just refuse to speak to me after?
How can he be nice one minute and a complete asshole the next?
I sighed, I was tired and really needed a nap right now. I got up and rummaged through my suitcase. I really need to remember to unpack my stuff. I pulled out some more comfortable clothes and walked into the bathroom to change out of my uniform.
When I walked back into the room I didn't spare Jayden a second glance as I went to lay on my bed. I turned my body towards the wall and drifted off to sleep.
I groaned at the sound of something thumping. I grabbed the pillow from my bed and placed it over my head.
I heard Jayden groan from the other side of the room. "Get the fucking door Starlet."
I threw the pillow at him and glared as I stood up. I walked over to the door when the person behind it knocked again.
"Coming." I grumbled just before unlocking and opening the door.
"What took you so long?" Adam asked as he peeked into the room. He looked at Jayden before looking back at me.
"Were you two sleeping?" He asked looking at us curiously.
"Keyword 'were'." Jayden muttered as he walked into the bathroom.
"Yeah well, wash up, dinner starts in 5 minutes."
I walked into the bathroom right after Jayden walked out. I ran a brush through my hair then washed my hands.
I walked back out to meet up with Adam and Jayden who seemed to be having a silent conversation. Whatever they were talking about it didn't please Jayden.
"Hey, what's going on?" I asked, uncomfortable by the stern look Adam was giving Jayden.
Adam turned to me, "You're sitting with Jayden at dinner."
"I don't see why. She can handle herself just fine." Jayden bit out.
"No, Jayden. It's not up for discussion, and that's final. We are not having a repeat of yesterday, understood?"
"Fine." he grumbled out.
I stayed quiet not wanting to be a part of their argument.
"Good. Now hurry up and get ready. I'll see you downstairs." Adam exited the room with a somber look on his face.
Jayden walked over to his drawer and pulled out a dark hoodie that matched the one he was wearing. He walked back over to me and shoved it into my hands.
"Put that on." he demanded.
I scrambled to put it on desperate to prevent another argument.
When I finished putting it on he walked up to me and pulled the hood up. I stared at him as he fixed the oversized sweater. His eyes finally met mine and I felt myself suck in a silent breath. The intensity in his eyes made my knees weak and it didn't help that he had reached a hand to my face to slowly brush away a strand of hair.
I could hear his husky breathing as he slowly retracted his hands. He finally looked away and pulled up his hoodie.
"Come on." he said without turning to look at me.
I followed behind him silently. When we reached the dining hall he grabbed my wrist and gently pulled me to the end of the table where he had sat the day before. He tried to keep all attention away from him or me.
He sat in the last seat and pulled me to the seat next to him.
"Put your head down." He said abruptly.
