After sasuke was born came naruto, and kyuubi attack yada yada....tobi was not on screen when minato fight kyuubi cuz. He was busy visiting his nephew
Tobi: c'mon sasuke-chan, sit on uncle tobi's lap an lemme tell you a story :)
Itachi: sasuke-chan *cries*
Tobi: once upon a time-
Itachi: no!
Tobi: there was a boy name obito, he was in love with rin. But she died so he was filled with hatred-
Itachi: don't teach him that!
Tobi: he met a certain old man who help him with everything and by everything i mean: bathing him, feeding him and baby stuffz. So it was horrible!
Itachi: *cries louder*
Tobi: then he attack konoha and kill yondaime, why? Cuz kishimoto told madara to do it so madara told obito!!! *smile*
Itachi: stop! I'll join your silly club!
Tobi: that's the spirit
Itachi: but i have to be evil and kill
Sasuke: kill!!!
Tobi: itachi...
Sasuke: itachi!
Tobi: after you kill, then join the akatsuki
Sasuke: then join the akatsuki!!!
Itachi: okay! It's settled
Sasuke: it's settled!
So... When we combine what sasuke said ->
1)kill!!!

TADAAAAA!!!!!! That is why sasuke kill itachi then join akatsuki :)
