YoungJae was curled up on the lounge with the warmest blankets he owned. Their buildings power had gone out because of the storm and he cursed the rattling windows as he tried to take his mind off the piercing cold weather that was seeping into his room.
“YoungJae!” Daehyun’s voice echoed from their apartments entry, and Youngjae could faintly hear the door shut.
“Youngjae!? Are you okay?” Daehyun’s voice sounded slightly concerned. Youngjae knew the boy would be pulling his shoes off and took a deep breath before shouting back.
“I’m in my room!” the sound of footsteps running down the corridor filled the house and Youngjae made eye contact with the door as the tapping grew stronger.
“Jesus Christ that storm is horrendous!” Daehyun flung open the door that was separating him and his roommate and searched the dark room with his eyes before focusing on the blonde boy hidden in the blankets.
“The power’s out, and I don’t know when they’ll fix it.” Youngjae murmured.
“Are you serious? Wh-wait is that my quilt?!” Daehyun pulled the thick jacket off of his slim body, his movements where jerky and quick.
“Yeah I took it, it’s way too cold without it.“ Youngjae admitted weakly as he looked up at Daehyun who had thrown his jacket across the room.
“Let me in.” The brunette leant forward, making his face level with the blonde who quickly blushed and looked away, breaking his gaze.
“Yah! Youngjae! What’s wrong?! It’s freezing and you have half of my blankets now let me in or we can both freeze!” Daehyun grabbed at the blankets and pried them open, exposing Youngjae to the cold even more. The boy willingly let the other in as soon as he felt the room’s temperature.
Daehyun slid into the fort Youngjae had built atop of the others bed, pulling his legs up and placing them over Youngjae’s crossed legs. They both fiddled with pulling the covers back around them, shivering and moving closer together trying to keep warm. Once they had finally sealed themselves in the many blankets again, Daehyun grabbed Youngjae and pulled him towards him.
“What are you doing.” Youngjae mumbled.
“Keeping warm.” Daehyun tightened his grip around the others waist, “So when did the power go out?”
“I’m guessing it’s been an hour.” Youngjae sighed. “It was out when I got home.” He relaxed and fell into Daehyun’s arms, forcing Daehyun to reposition his legs in order to be comfortable. Daehyun let out a deep breath as Youngjae nuzzled into his neck, his warm cheeks rubbing against his friends chest.
“How was your day?” Youngjae pulled the blankets up further.
“Long and cold, I really didn’t think it would end to be honest.” Daehyun dug his face into the others hair.
“What about yours?” the brunette inquired as he tilted his head to the side.
“The same; but with a dash of loneliness.” Youngjae sighed into Daehyun’s shoulder.
“What? Why?” Daehyun moved his face away so he could see the others face.
“Just one of those days, you know?” Youngjae pushed his face back into the other boys neck.
“Why didn’t you text me? I would have kept you company, my day may have been packed but my lectures where boring and pointless” Daehyun ran his fingers through the blonde locks.
“I don’t want to bother you-“
“You’re such an idiot, I’m your friend it’s my purpose to make you feel less lonely.” Youngjae’s cheeks where flushed with that statement and Daehyun could feel it on his collar bones.
