chapter 9

We both got out of the water and walked back to my car. Emerson and I stayed silent the whole time we both got changed back into our clothes. I placed my jacket over Emersons shoulders as i could see she was shaking whilst waiting for me to put my jeans on.

A small "thanks" quietly leaves her lips as well as a little smirk.

I unlock my car and open the door for Emerson to get in. She slowly jumps in and i close the door behind her.

I walk around the back to get to the drivers side then hop in also.

we drive back to town in complete silence, It wasn't an awkward silence though. It was a good silence. I watched her look out the window at the afternoon sun shinning through the trees above us. I love how her eyes light up at the natural things in life.It made me see a more down to earth side of Emerson a more simple side of her.

We finally arrived out the front of her favourite restaurant. It was the local Italian restaurant just a few blocks back from her house.

"What are we doing here" Emerson ask with concern.

"Well you promised me a second date and I knew this was your favourite place to eat, even though i bet there spaghetti isn't as good as mine, but i guess we can give it a shot"

A big laugh escapes her mouth then a look of worry takes over her face after a few seconds.

"wait your serious, we cant go in like this, look at us" Emerson states pointing at our slightly wet clothes.

"oh come on drama queen, lighten up a little, were just eating"

I open my door and start to walk inside when i feel Emersons little hands touch my shoulder and hear her whisper down my ear.

"I cant believe you remembered this was my favourite"

We get a lot of snobby stares and whispers as we walk into the restaurant, I didn't mind what those people thought of me so i hope Emerson didn't either.

We both sit in a booth at the back when a waiter approaches us. He stares at Emerson a while before speaking, which i don't blame him, She was beautiful.

"uhh sorry, What would you two like to eat this evening"

Just as Emerson was about to open her mouth i answer.

"Yes two vegetarian lasagnes, and two cups of water with ice please"

"Okay wont be long" The waiter gives us both a big smile and walks away to serve an elderly couple sitting in the booth infront of us.

Emersons big smile is now permanently plastered on her face.

"Wow you really did listened to me ramble about every little detail about myself on our first date didn't you"

"Well Im interested in every little detail about you Emerson Todd"

We had eaten, laughed, chatted and were back in my car on the way to Emersons house before we knew it. Its like time flew by when i was with  her. Nothing else mattered except for us.

I pull up to her electronic gate, she puts the pin number in and the gates slowly creek open. Once the gates are fully open i continue to drive up her long ass driveway till we reach the front door.

"Thankyou for getting me out of my mood Carter, I actually had a lot of fun"

"Thankyou for letting me get you out of your mood" I reply before continuing "And you say that like your surprised im a lot of fun" i said while i raised my eyebrow at her and gave her a cheeky smirk.

She playfully swats my arm and giggles.

Before i know it my hands were curressing her rosy red cheeks while my thumb traces over her bottom lip. Emerson looks up and stares into my eyes before climbing over the console and onto my lap.

My mind was racing, I cant believe this was actually happening. Since the day i layed my eyes on Emerson Todd this is all i have ever dreamed about, and it was finally coming a reality.

She took my head in her hands and i took her waist in mine as we slowly and passionately kissed for the first time.
