Overexposed

Max's face was still flushed when she climbed into Chloe's truck, this was embarrassing but it wasn't as if she wasn't going to be interrogated anyways. 

"Wow Max I have never seen someone so flustered! So what's up Sista? Tell me everyyything." She said with a devilish grin.

"He kissed me..." Max gushed.

"WTF Max that's a total one-eighty, I can't believe that prick!" Her voice was a blend of shock and anger.

"Seriously Chloe I can explain!"

"No don't even bother! First you turn me and Warren down and now you're losing your panties over Presshit!" 

Max had never heard Chloe so angry and she had heard Chloe rage a lot this week.

"He can rewind too Chloe!" She blurted.

"Then why did 'Mr Perfect' drug me then?!" By this point Chloe was driving at even faster speeds than Nathan had.

"Because he was going to take the picture then rewind so the drugging never would have happened, but you woke up too soon and he freaked out." Max said trying to keep her composure.

"I don't know how to feel right now Max, he still took that picture and that was his plan." Her voice had calmed a little but she was still livid.

"He wanted to avoid hurting people but he needed the pictures to keep his Father and Jefferson satisfied. He thought the girls would never know this way. "

"Then what about Rachel!" Chloe spat venomously.

"He was drugged at the same time as Rachel, they were posed by Jefferson so he could have blackmail material, he didn't get his rewind until Rachel died Chloe there was nothing he could have done!" 

Chloe slowed down the car to a much safer speed.

"You swear he was telling the truth?" her voice was cold but calmer.

"I swear Chloe, I have no reason to lie."

Chloe went quiet for what felt like an eternity, she pulled the car into a side road. Chloe turned round to look Max in the eyes.

"Then tell me about the rewind you did when we were looking for clues, then I'll trust you? " Her voice was like ice and her eyes were piercing. 

Max was stunned. She would have to tell Chloe, she had no choice.

"I'm warning you Chloe you won't like it."

"Tell me. Now!" She said clenching her jaw.

"I found out I could use photos when looking at the photograph of you and I the day William died...I went back and I stopped him..." She paused.

"Then why Max?! Why isn't he here?!" She snarled.

"You were the one who got into a crash Chloe, you were paralyzed and your respiratory system was failing..." Max broke into sobs. "You were dying Chloe! You asked me for a favor..."

"What did I ask for?" all of the anger had dropped from her voice.

"That I help you die, and I did Chloe because you were suffering,  William and Joyce were in so much debt they were about to lose the house. They were trying to spend every second they could with you."  

"Thank you Max." Tears started to roll down Chloe's cheeks. "I think you did the right thing...Dad was there right? The whole time..."

Max nodded "he loved you Chloe till the end...Joyce too."

Chloe pulled Max into a hug. "Thank you Max, I needed to know...my Dad never meant to die on me; he would have stuck with me...no matter what." Despite everything she was smiling and it was real, it was the Chloe that Max knew from her childhood.

"Max...if Nathan will make you happy, I accept that. I know why you want to go to your dorm now...it's to get a picture isn't it?"

Max nodded.

"You have done so much for me Max! You and Nathan are going to make everything right aren't you? You're going to try and bring back Rachel."

"That's the plan Chloe...but one thing I learned from rescuing people someone else might take their place."
