Nathan snatched up Max's hand. His hand is warm and calloused.

"How about we take a little walk? It's gonna be 7 months until I can see you again."

Max nodded. "Sounds like a good idea." she said in a rather melancholic way.

Nathan led Max toward the wooden fence of the parking lot. The air was cool and refreshing on her skin, it was a clear night it was hard to believe a storm would be hitting Arcadia Bay in mere hours. was as they say 'the calm before the storm'. Nathan was looking out at the beached whales.

"Poor whales, they are my favorite animal you know? It's horrible seeing them like this." A sadness rang in his voice.

"Why do you like whales Nathan?" Max was genuinely curious.

"Mostly because of their songs, they calm me when I feel like raging. But I read once there was a whale whose cries were on a completely different frequency, none of the other whales could hear it's cries so it swam alone it's whole life."

"You identified with it?" She said hugging his arm.

"You know Max, I've never thought of it that way but I guess your right. I tried to communicate with my parents but they just never even tried to understand me they just fucking pawned me off to any old shrink they could find. They thought I could take some fucking pills and it would all go away!" He thought for a second. "Maybe that's one of the reasons I became so fucking aggressive, they never listened to me so I kept raging and acting out hoping they might actually listen. Doesn't help my Father was always very aggressive to me and my sister growing up, I'm glad she took off to travel the world."

Max had a relatively healthy up bringing, Max and her parents only had the normal parent child conflicts. The idea of having parents who just don't care and would willingly use their child to benefit themselves was a very foreign to her.

"I saw that email, your sister seems nice. I can't imagine what kind of upbringing you both had".

"Nosy as ever! My sister always was less affected. And I appreciate you're trying to understand me more now, I guess you saw I had Kate's video up?" Nathan was looking down at his feet as he mentioned the viral video.

"Yeah I noticed that." Max said glancing away from Nathan uncomfortably.

"I agonize over that video, Jefferson put me up to it and Victoria was hammered and posted it on the internet for all to see. I never wanted to see her up on that roof, I can be an asshole but I'm not that heartless."

Max mentally releases a sigh of relief.

I have a lot going on in my life right now. I'm back at university for my final year, my mental health and the mental health of the people closest to me is far from settler. Quroscuro might not be updated very regularly for awhile. I'm still going to finish it don't you guys worry.
