After a rough sleeping night, Lauren Holiday woke up at 7:30 am and got ready and decided to call Jill Ellis, their head coach and dialed the number.
Jill answered on the 3rd ring and said "Hello Lauren. Fancy hearing from you so early."
Lauren replied "Sorry to call so early, Jill, but did you hear about Morgan Brian and her family?" "No. What happened?!" "They were in a serious car accident and Morgan is the lone survivor. She has some pretty bad injuries, so Jrue and I are taking her in." Jill replied "Oh my gosh. This is terrible." Jill had started crying on the other end, so Lauren almost started crying again. She held back her tears, though. "Thank you for calling me, Lauren." "No problem it's just I'm scared for her." "Same." "I better get to the hospital now." "Okay. Thanks again for calling me, Lauren." "No problem, Jill. Bye." "Bye, Lauren." They hung up and Lauren grabbed her backpack, which she had already packed, and went and got breakfast. After she ate, she grabbed some extra food and placed it into her backpack and grabbed herself another coffee before walking over to the hospital.
She walked into the hospital, threw away her coffee cup, and walked over to the desk and asked "Have visiting hours started yet?" "Yes, they have. Who are you here to see?" The receptionist asked her and the ex-midfielder answered "Morgan Brian. She was in a car accident last night." "Oh, yes. She's in room 719." "Thank you." "No problem. Just doing my job." Lauren walked to the elevator and went to the 7th floor. After getting off the elevator, she once again asked for Morgan Brian and was, again, told 719. So she walked over to room 719, and knocked before opening the door to see Morgan laying there, her eyes shut. Then, Doctor Zen came in and greeted her, then said "As you can tell Morgan is still knocked out, and will be for a few more hours, so I will leave you be until then." So Lauren sat in a chair next to the midfielder's bed and texted Jrue what was going on.
