"But Mum,"  Iris whined. "I don't want to get up. It's like three am!"

"Oh stop being so dramatic, Iris. It's actually almost one. We're going to be late if you don't get up now," Iris's mum stated, looking down at her watch. She picked up a pillow, hitting Iris in the head with it.

"Ow, mum! Whyyy," Iris whined, rolling out of bed and onto the floor. "I'm up."

"Actually, you're down," Her mum pointed out. "But it'll do. Be downstairs in twenty!"

Iris groaned, climbing off the ground. "My mum is totally mum goals."

Iris finally got up off the ground and decided to get ready. She plugged in her phone and turned on some music. She literally could not do anything without music. Better Off Dead by Sleeping With Sirens started playing. "Aw, my song man."

Iris quickly got dressed in black skinny jeans, an All Time Low shirt, and black Converse. She brushed her messy, dyed hair before throwing on a SnapBack, backwards of course. She slipped on her black, thick framed glasses before walking downstairs, phone in hand.

"About time! Here, I made breakfast. You're going to have to eat on the way there though," Her mum said, shoving a plate of food in her face.

"Thanks, mum. Now, let's go!" Iris exclaimed. "Are the bags already in the car?"

"Yup! You're all set. Oh Lord, my baby's going to be in college!"

"Muuuum!"

"Okay, okay, I'll stop. Now let's go!"

-

Once they arrived at the campus, Iris's jaw dropped. It looked exactly the way she pictured it. She looked up at the building in awe as she readjusted her backpack strap. "I c-can't even right now."

"Okay, sweetie no. You sound like a stereotypical white girl."

"Oh sorry mum," Iris replied sarcastically, playfully rolling her eyes. "Have you seen Christina? She texted me saying she was here..."

"I still think it's so funny that you, Christina, and  her boyfriend got into the same college," Her mum chuckled, shaking her head.

"It was fate," Iris joked. "Oh, there she is!"

Iris ran over to her tall, blonde friend. "Christina!"

"Iris, hey!" Christina smiled, engulfing Iris in a hug.

"Wow, I see you haven't grown one bit."

"Hello to you too, Luke," Iris spoke, playfully rolling her eyes.

"Heyyy," Luke laughed, ruffling her hair.

"No, stop it," Iris groaned. "I worked hard on my hair."

"No you didn't, quit lying," Iris's mum spoke, causing Luke to burst out laughing.

"Thanks for calling me out mum."

"You're welcome!"

-

"Well, you're all set! Call me tonight, okay?"

"Okay mum, will do."

"I love you!"

"I love you too, mum," Iris sighed, smiling slightly.

Once her mum had walked away, leaving her alone on the campus, she turned to Christina.

"Whose you're room mate?"

"Um, I don't know. Some dude named Michael."

Christina nodded. "Cool."

Iris laughed. "Did he, did he used to ride motorcycles?"

"No, stop it."

"But Nicki references are bae."

"Seriously, Iris. Stop. You aren't cool."

"You're so mean to me!"

"I know. Now go meet your room mate. I'll text you tonight."

"Fine," Iris groaned, saying goodbye to Christina and walking away to her dorm. Iris sighed, opening the door. She looked around the dorm, seeing a boy sitting on the bed.

"Sup, the name's Michael."

"Yo, I'm Iris. Nice hair," Iris replied, pointing at his red hair. (a/n: NO REGRETS HAHAHA)

"Right back at ya," Michael replied, smirking.

Iris threw her bag on the free bed and began to unpack all her stuff. She put up her All Time Low, Sleeping With Sirens, and Twenty One Pilots poster, too.

"Glad to see my room mate has good taste in music. Thought you would be, like, a hardcore fan of One Direction or something," Michael spoke, looking at her posters.

"Yeah, no. All Time Low is where it's at."

"True."

Maybe being room mates with this Michael dude won't be so bad...
