A Real Love Story?

Chapter 5:

My big brown eyes grew wide. "No! Martin!! Everyone here hates me!" I yelled while he parked. "Shush Raven. Not everyone hates you" he said softly. "Listen Raven. It's your senior prom. Let's have a good time." He whispered. I sighed and we smiled. He gave me a corsage and we walked inside. One of the first people I saw was Janine. Her eyes grew wide and she walked over to us.

"Shit." I whispered. "It's ok" Martin said quietly and kissed my temple. He protectively wrapped his arm around my waist. "Well, well, well, look who it is. The misfit whore" she smirked. Martin took a step closer to her and whispered something to Janine. Her eyes grew wide and she stormed off. A small half smile appeared on my face.

"Thanks Martin" I said. He nodded. "Let's dance! You're too pretty not to dance!" He said. I groaned as he dragged me to the dance floor. "Now now Raven, don't make noises like that. We wouldn't want people to know what you sound like in bed now would we?" He smirked. My mouth fell open and I hit his chest.

We danced to a few songs, perfectly synchronized with the music. Then, a slow song came on and I was about to walk away when Martin pulled me back to him. I spun back to him and my back was against his chest. "Dance with me beautiful" he whispered. "You're drawing attention" I quietly said looking at my feet.

He kissed my forehead. We danced to the music and when the song ended he wrapped his arm around my waist as we walked to our table. I spotted Adam standing alone. I quickly looked away before he could notice me staring. "That guy over there, is staring at you" Martin whispered to me. "Shit" I mumbled. "He's no one. Don't worry about it." I said. Of course Adam came walking over here.

"Hey Raven..... You look...... Amazing.... Who's this? You never mentioned a boyfriend before?...." He said. Martin was about to speak but I quickly leaned over and kissed him to shut him up. I pulled away from him and Adam's mouth was hanging open. "This Adam, is Martin, my boyfriend" I said. He nodded and walked away. I may be crazy, but as he walked away I swear I saw a tear roll down his face.

"Sorry Martin, I just had to get him off my back" I sighed. He shook his head at me. "Raven I love you. You know that but you just fucked with my feelings. We made an agreement. You don't like me as a boyfriend so you can't do stuff like that. You totally put me on the spot" he said. I looked up at him. "I'm sorry" I said quietly

He hugged me and sighed. "It's fine. I'm about To show you the time of your life. You have spandex on under that dress right?" He said. I nodded. "let's dance" he said. I smiled as we walked onto the dance floor. My eyes got wide as one of my favorite songs came on. Collide.

"No. N-n-n-n-n-o. I am not. We are not dancing to this song." I said. Martin smirked. "Too late". As the lyrics began, we started dancing to the choreography those taught to us all that time ago. Everyone was cheering us on and let us have been holding it for. When the dance was done and we stepped off the Dance floor, one of the teachers, Mr. Smith stepped out in front of me. "Raven, you've got amazing talent. You should join tHe dance team." He said.

I shook my head. "No thanks". "Think about it Raven" he said. I nodded. We left afterwhile, but I bet you can guess who followed me home. Adam. He barged into my apartment and stared at me. "Why the hell didn't you tell me?!" He yelled. I shrugged. "I've known you for a day. I didn't think anything of it. I mean, my life isn't really any of your business" I said. "I like to you Raven. I like you and you couldn't care less!" He said.

"I'm sorry that Martin has been there for me since I was 11 years old. I've got issues and I try my best to stay away from people. Sorry if my being messed up effects you." I said. "We will talk tomorrow" Adam said. He left. Thank god.
