I wanted to turn around and let him in but I couldn't. And I wouldn't. So I didn't. I walked to the back of the library and took down the old posters. I cleaned up, and sat down. It's been a strange day.

I was the first person out the school doors when the final Valorane. As I started walking home, I was stopped. I looked behind me to see Adam in a very nice, very new truck. "You don't have a car?" He asked. I shook my head. "Hop in" he said. I stopped in my tracks and stared at him. "That wouldn't be a good idea" I sighed. He shrugged. I walked over to his car, but was not fast enough. Janine and a group of the cheerleaders quickly drove by and threw a bucket of water all over me. Adam's face was shocked to the point of discomfort. I sighed, "everyday". "They do that to you everyday?" He quietly asked. I nodded and shivered. It was rather chilly today. He reached for my hand. I quickly got in the car. He reached behind the seat and handed me a blanket. "Thanks" I mumbled.

I directed him to my apartment building and he stopped the car when we arrived there. "Raven, don't take this the wrong way but... You live here?" Adam said. I chuckled, "yep. Home sweet home". "So you and your family live in one of these tiny apartments?" He asked. I got out of his truck and turned around to say goodbye. "No, it's just me" I said. "Wait, what?" He said. I said, "bye Adam". "Wait! Raven, please. Talk to me." He begged. I shook my head. "I'm not the kind of person you want to get to know Adam! Trust me, I'm not someone you want to be around. You should just stay away from me." I snapped. I ran inside before he could get another word in.
