A Real Love Story?

Chapter 6:

I hopped out of my beautiful dress and walked g me bathroom. I sat in my bathroom and took a picture of the dress.

I took a picture of myself as well. Of course Martin insisted on getting our prom pictures taken.

Once I undressed, I looked at my bruise covered body in the mirror. I winced when I touched my side.

There was a massive gash in my side. Shit. I cleaned it and hopped in the shower.

I sighed when memories of my past came flashing back at me. I stepped in the shower and winced when the cold water hit my body.

I groaned when I heard a knock at the door. I quickly wrapped up in a towel and walked to the door.

As fast as I opened the door, a pair of lips were on mine. I gasped and quickly pulled back. "Don't say anything. Just kiss me" i looked up at Adam.

"Please Raven, please. I can't believe you don't remember me. I lived next to you when we were 7" he said.

"Adam leave. Now. I really can't deal with this now" I said. I pushed him out the door. "Damn it" he mumbled.

I sighed and got dressed. I laid down and waited for Jelly to come snuggle with me. She got on the bed after a few minutes.

I drifted off to sleep after some time. I woke up at 4 to get to work. I finished up at work and walked to school.

The first two classes were the same as always but I was worried about PE. The girls uniform was a sports bra and shorts.

The boys uniform was just shorts. I was covered in cuts and bruises. I walked slowly to the gym.

"Coach?..... Could I please sit out today?" I asked. "No" he said. I sighed and went to go change. I changed quickly and walked out to the field.

We were doing relay today. I heard the whispering about me. Towards the end of class, Adam came up to me.

His eyes were really wide. "Raven?....what?...happened to you? Did your boyfriend beat you up?" He said. "No! God no! Martin is so non-violent" I said.

"Listen Adam, I do not want to talk about this." I sighed. He nodded and walked away. I had 2 more classes after that.

I headed for the library but was surprised when Adam and the principal were waiting for me.

"Good afternoon" I said and got out my key. "Miss Smith, are you being abused? With all due respect, I like to see you in your Physical Education uniform." The principle said.

I sighed as we walked to the gym. I dressed and walked out of the locker room. Several pairs of eyes were on me.

I tried to cover up as much as possible but it was no use. "Raven, I know your situation.... I know you've had some issues, but you're better than this. Care to tell me what happened?" He said.

I told them about the accident not making eye contact. Adam stood with his mouth hanging open.

"Well, what do you want?" The principal asked. I shrugged, "to go home". He shook his head.

"Unfortunately that's not an option" he said. "I've seen you and Adam together quite a bit. I want you to stay with Adam until further notice" he said.

Adam and I looked at each other. "What?" I shrieked and he said. "You heard me. Let Martin know then report back wit Adam. He's to drive you everywhere and help you in any way you need" he said.

He said we could go and that's exactly what we did. Janine was waiting for me. "Shit" I mumbled when she threw the icy water in me.

We walked to Adam's truck in silence. "I hate this" I mumbled. "I really am sorry" he said. "Let's try and make the best of it because otherwise we'll both be completely miserable" I said.

I ran inside and went to tell Martin. I grabbed my few bags and my cat and went back to Adam.

"You have a cat?" Adam asked. I nodded. "She's my baby. Is that a problem?" I said. He shook his head.

"What's her name? She's pretty" Adam asked. "Jelly. Thanks" I said. "Can I pet her?" He asked.

I nodded and Adam leaned over to pet her. "My family can be a little......different" he said. I shrugged.

"Aren't we all a little different?" I said. He nodded. "So" he said holding out the word.

I looked at him. I basically said through my facial expressions, 'are you for real'. "What?! We have a pretty long drive...and I do not want to sit here in silence" he said.

       I reached for the radio and he swatted my hand. "Trust me princess, you wouldn't like my music" he said.

       I shrugged and turned it on anyways. What I assumed to be country music came blasting through the speakers.

         I looked over to Adam staring at me. I burst out laughing. "What's so funny Raven" he asked. I shook my head. 

        "It's not the music....it's jut the way you're looking at me" I said In between fits of laughter.

         "Whatever you say" Adam mumbled. After some time went by, we began to pass by a lot of farms.

       
         He pulled into a dirt road. "Where are we?" I asked. "Almost home." He said. This should be interesting
