The Jeon residence had slowly settled into a comfortable rhythm after the unexpected arrival of Mrs. Jeon's cousin, his wife, and their daughter.
Everyone was gathered in the spacious living room, with Grandmother and Grandfather seated comfortably on the sofa while Mr. and Mrs. Jeon sat nearby. Soomin was sitting beside her grandmother, casually scrolling through her phone while listening to the adults talk.
The visiting family was also seated with them, participating politely in the conversation. Everything appeared warm and normal, as though their unexpected arrival had already become a part of the family's afternoon.
Suddenly, Soomin's phone began ringing. She glanced down at the screen and immediately noticed the name flashing across it. A huge smile spread across her face.
"Taetae is calling!" she announced happily, sitting up straight.
Without wasting another second, she accepted the video call.
Taehyung's smiling face immediately appeared on the screen, her hair slightly tousled from the journey and a bright excitement visible in her eyes. Behind her, through the large glass windows of their cottage, mist-covered mountains and tall green trees could be seen.
"Taetae!" Soomin exclaimed happily. "You finally reached Kodaikanal! I was actually wondering when you were going to call and tell us how your journey went."
Taehyung laughed softly. "We reached a little while ago. I wanted to call everyone as soon as we settled down, but Jungkook insisted that I sit and rest for a few minutes because apparently, according to him, I had already exhausted myself just by staring at the mountains throughout the entire journey."
From somewhere beside her, Jungkook's voice immediately interrupted.
"Because you did! You were taking pictures of every tree, every mountain, every patch of mist, and probably every cloud we passed."
Taehyung turned the phone slightly toward him, giving him an offended look.
"I was appreciating the beauty of Kodaikanal. There's a difference between appreciating nature and taking too many pictures."
Jungkook appeared on the screen with an amused smile. "You took so many pictures that I'm beginning to think you were planning to photograph the entire journey from the airport to the resort."
Soomin burst into laughter.
"Bhaiya, you already know how Taetae is. The moment she sees something beautiful, you can forget about getting her attention for the next ten minutes. She probably didn't even notice when you were driving."
Jungkook shook his head dramatically.
"Exactly! I was sitting beside her, trying to show her something, and she kept saying, 'Wait, Jungkook, look at that!' I have officially accepted that I'm going to lose every competition against a pretty mountain."
Taehyung laughed and leaned slightly closer to him.
"Don't act jealous. You know I still think you're the most handsome thing I saw today."
Jungkook's teasing expression instantly softened.
"That's better. Now I don't mind the mountains anymore."
Soomin groaned playfully.
"Oh, please! You two have only been married for a short time, and you've already become unbearably cheesy. I called to talk to Taetae, not to watch Bhaiya flirt with his wife."
Taehyung laughed, covering her mouth with her hand while Jungkook simply smiled.
"What can I say?" Jungkook replied casually. "Your Taetae makes it very easy."
