Squirrelanoids Attack (TMNT fanfic)

Chapter 2

Raph's P.O.V.

I was holding on to Mikey like there was no tomorrow. I smiled when I knew he was safe, but I was wrong.

One of those squirrels jumped out of the water and extended its long tongue that so happened to wrap around Mikey's body. I thought it would help if I threw throwing stars, but it just made it worse.

It fell into the water and yanked Mikey from my hand; he was staring at me with fear until he went under. And to be honest, I was scared too.

"Raph!" Was the last thing he said before he was taken under the water.

"Mikey!" Me and my brothers yelled as we could no longer see him.

No P.O.V.

Raph was getting pulled up by Leo and Donnie. As Leo was pulling on Donnie to lift him up, Raph started to struggle. "Let me go! I need to get Mikey!"

Leo and Donnie started hold on to Raph with a stronger grip. They pulled him to the floor and held him down.

"Raph calm down!" Leo shouted over his struggling brother. "We can't do anything now, we have to find another way to find him. I'm sorry."

Raph calmed down and pushed his brothers away from him. "What other way could there be? Mikey is down there with those, Squirrelanoids!"

They were silent until Donnie got an idea. "I can make a map of the sewer lines, like the drains and the pipes as well."

Leo and Raph nodded, but Raph just looked down. "Alright but we have to hurry, we don't know what could be happening to him."

They nodded and started to walk back home, except for Raph. He stayed behind and stared at the empty sewer pool. He sighed and looked one last time before walking after the guys.

After a few minutes, of silent walking back to the lair, Donnie left straight into his lab.

Splinter came out of the dojo to see two of his sons sitting on the couch with sad faces. "Did you succeed on your mission, my sons?"

Raph and Leo looked up at their sensei with sad glances. "No sensei, we failed. One of those Squirrelanoids, dragged Mikey with them in the sewer pool." Leo finished as Raph looked away.

Splinter's ears went down, he closed his eyes and stroked his goatee. He opened his eyes and looked down at his sons. "If there is anything you wish to talk about this situation, you may find me in the dojo. I am going to meditate." He said as he left.

"What can we do now?" Raph said very quietly.

Leo stared at him with a confused gaze, "what did you say?"

"I said what can we do now?" Raph yelled in pure rage. "If I didn't throw those throwing stars at the stupid thing, then Mikey would still be here with us! It yanked him from my grasp and dragged him in the water." He calmed down and looked down, "it's all my fault." He said, barley above a whisper.

Leo looked at him with sad eyes. "It's not your fault Raph, you didn't know. In fact, none of us knew. You did what your instincts told you to do, and that's nothing to be ashamed of. I would've done the same thing if I were you." Leo said with a reassuring smile.

"You mean that Leo?" Raph asked, a little shocked. Leo nodded and looked away. "Do you think we'll get Mikey back?"

Leo gave him a sad smile, "I can't be too sure, but I'm sure we will."

Raph gave a small, sad smile. "I sure hope so bro, I really do."

I'm pretty sure that this chapter was lame, but what can I do? I'm only human! Or am I?
