I walked downstairs about 7 min later wearing the clothes that Gerard had left me with. The skinny jeans and shirt were a bit big so the sleeves went past my hands and the jeans were at the bottom of my feet. The fact that I was short added to the fact that I looked like a 3rd grader but a very adorable 3rd grader even I had to admit. As I walked downstairs Gerard turned around to face me. Within about 5 seconds of seeing me, his cheeks grew pink and his eyes widened.
"Y-you look...kinda...well um... Yeah.""I know I look dumb but I can't help it. I'm naturally short."
" I was going to say you looked kinda... Adorable... C-cute even."
I could feel myself blushing hard at his words. I can't believe he said I looked cute! Keep your cool Frank, keep your cool.
"Oh. Um thanks," I said as frantic words tumbled out of my mouth.
"Uh yeah. So are you hungry?" He quickly changed the subject.
"Yeah a little bit" I said.
"Good," he said. "Then come with me."
I followed him into the kitchen where the smell of food grew stronger." I just got done cooking so this is perfect timing."
"Wait, you cooked food for me?"
"Of course, it's what you do for guests."
"Wow! Thanks." I replied. "I don't think I've ever been treated this well in anyone's house before."
Then again I don't get invited many places.
"Well I'm glad to be the first. I'm not the most talented cooker in the world and my mom is off on a vacation right now so I really hope you like homemade mac and cheese."
"That sounds perfect," I smiled back. I wasn't much of a cooking person myself so it sounded great to me.
"Do you want anything with it? Anything to drink? I could chop up some meat to put in if you want." He said.
"A water would be awesome but I'm a vegetarian so I'll pass on the meat. Thanks though."
"Oh I had no idea you where a vegetarian." He said.He brought me my glass of water and we sat down and started to eat. We talked about how long I had been a vegetarian and how he became friends with Brent and just enjoyed each others time. I also learned that he has a brother named Mikey who is in two of my classes but I never really noticed because I really wasn't very socially inclined. Mikey was staying at a friends house for a couple days since there was no adult at the house but Gerard convinced his mom to let him stay. As we were cleaning up from dinner, we noticed the weather had taken a turn for the worse. It was now heavily raining and there was growing thunder and lighting in the distance. We had also lost track of time in our conversation and it was getting to be late.
"I should head back soon before it gets too late." I stated after cleaning up.
"What? No way! Its like 10 already and there's a huge storm coming. Your clothes aren't going to keep you dry or warm and if you leave in the middle of the night you could get mugged or raped!" He replied quickly.
"Oh. Okay then, what should I do?" I said."You should just stay the night," he replied. "If you don't have a phone you can just use mine and call your mom to tell her that you'll be home in the morning."
"Are you sure your Ok with that?"
"Of course! It really isn't a big deal. You can just use my brothers room or something."
We walked upstairs to a room opposing Gerard's. It was the same size and shape however, unlike Gerard's, it was past the point of artist messy and just a plain reck. The place looked like it had just gone through a world war and there was trash and clothes littering the floor and bed.
