I couldn't escape his eyes; he was just staring at me, waiting for an answer.
"Em I dunno,"
"So what, you were going to wait until I just figured it out then?" he interrupts, letting go of the grip on my wrists.
"Of course not! Why are you so desperate to know in anyway?" I crease my forehead in anger, "you have a girlfriend to worry about."
"What if I wasn't with her?" he takes my chin in-between his fingers to make me look at him.
"But you are," was all I could say.
He storms out of the bathroom and I hear my front door slam shut. I sigh before letting the water envelope me in the shower. The previous owner had a double shower head put in as well as a little bench to sit on in the shower room and I was glad for it. I scrubbed myself clean, making sure every trace of Jay was gone before I left and changed into tracksuit bottoms and a hoodie. I wandered back into my sitting room to find Max and Tom sitting there watching TV.
"Where's everyone else?"
"Nareesha and Seev went out for food and Nathan is still asleep. I'm guessing Jay is sulking somewhere," Max replied, his eyes never leaving the screen.
I plonk down on the couch between them and I can feel Tom staring at me.
He looked so......sad.
"Don't worry," I tell him, he throws his arm around my shoulder and gives me a hug.
"What's this? No hug for me?" Max smiles before he throws my arm around his shoulder and I tighten the grip. It was great knowing that someone was on my side in all this.
We stayed in that position for ages, watching shitty TV.
"Oh my god what time is it?" Nathan asks, collapsing on the empty chair.
"Half 4?" I tell him, "lazy shit! Are you just up?!"
"Nath I've to agree with her, that's a bit ridiculous. Maybe we shouldn't let you party with us if you can't handle it," Max tells him, smirking.
Tom and me let out a giggle as Nathan pulls a face.
"You won't be saying that when I turn 18."
"But we still will," Tom cackles.
He lets out a huff before standing up.
Max and Tom both mutter "Yes's" and "Thanks mate" before he slides off to the kitchen. I decide to follow him.
"You think I'm going to steal from you?" he smiles.
"Nah I feel bad that you're slaving away here in my house."
"You have fun last night? You disappeared last night."
Am I really that noticeable?
"Yeah I hung over with Nareesha for a while before I passed out," I laughed, "You have fun?"
"Yeah; Tom's friends are mental!" he chuckles, "Then Jay passed out so I stole loads of the booze in his room."
"Now I know why you're only up,"
"You're place is so.............girly," he tells me, inspecting the mug.
"Well, I am the only person who lives here," I reply, defensively.
"Obviously, I'm just realising that your plates and mugs are all flowery or have polka dots on them," he rubs my arm, "I like it, it's you"
He pulls me in for a hug and I can still smell the party on him, but it's mixed with his aftershave and it smells divine.
"I'm dying," he murmurs, "I need a nap." He curls himself into the corner and drifts off.
"So I'm going to head now, I'm wrecked too," Max declares to me and Nath, "be good children."
"I'll talk to him; makes him see sense," he whispers in my ear.
I just nod my head and shake. I wasn't that worried; it was Jay.
"What's wrong?" he asks me, concern written on his face.
"Nothing."
"Do not say that to me Kee, I know something up," he narrows his eyes at me. "Especially after the little episode Jay has this morning."
I always thought Nathan was wiser than what people gave him credit for, being around the boys who were older than he was obviously rubbed off on him.
"I kissed Jay last night," I finally open my mouth.
"I'm guessing he only figured all this out this morning"
"Yeah, I can thank Tom for that." I let out a sigh and run my hand through my hair. Nathan pulls me to his side and I immediately cuddle into his chest. I was so comfortable here, in complete silence except hearing his heart hammering away, sometimes that is all I need.
"As much as I hate him sometimes I think we should move to another room," He nods his head over to Tom, snoring way curled up on my couch.
"Okay, just let me grab a cig and we'll chill in my room ok?"
"Could I borrow one?" he laughs.
I just roll my eyes, wander out to my balcony and sit down on a chair. Yes, I have finally bought furniture for it; I even got a little table where my box of cigarettes is currently resting. Nathan sits opposite me and lights up one too. We sit there in complete silence gain, taking in the busy streets below.
