Carter felt sorrow for the first time since Joshua's stillbirth. It engraved itself in his face, emotions and stomach.

He was filled with unhopeful amounts of guilt. He felt it right in his heart as it strained with pain and sorrow and to add insult to injury every time he looked to his hands, he felt as if he had taken her life with his own hands.

He was at a loss for words.

"Carter....Are you okay?...."

Carter sniffed, looking up over his shoulder to see Abby. She stood there with her hand on his shoulder and a weak. But, genuine smile on her face. It hardly made him feel better. But, at least he still had someone.

He looked down to his hands once again. The rain water from his fringe, dripping in droplets like tears into his palms. His wedding ring still gracing his right hand ring finger, even though they had separated days ago....He couldn't bring himself to remove it.

He clenched his fists as he broke down again. The tears shedding as he clamped his eyes shut tightly. His cheeks stained red with his past pain. As he spoke, he spoke with a stutter and along with that. He spoke in sobs.

"Kem..."

He warbled, gripping his hands together tighter as Abby rubbed her hand against his shoulder.

"I-....I don't understand..."

His lips parsed with each breath, his breathing unsteady and wheezy from the tears. He couldn't hold back the tears as they came in shed loads and he just sat there. Heartbroken.
