Its been almost a month and everything is almost back to normal... but what is normal? Maybe, one day, I will know. But for now, it doesn't matter. Today, however, is going to be insane. Elita and Sam are moving here and they said that they've got a surprise for me. I should've told them I don't like surprises, but its to late now.

Peter is never at his parents house anymore. He'll get some clothes and come back before anyone wakes up.

I wait in my room, anxiety filling me up. It seems like hours, but they finally arrived. Elita hugged me as I opened the door. Her brown hair covering my vision. Her cacasion skin making me look pale. And her blue eyes looking at me so sternly. Sam hugged me after Elita did. His black hair quaffed and stiff. His dark skin making him look stronger than he is. And his brown eyes, soft and sophisticated.

Once they are settled in, they put me in the car and drive me somewhere. There are many trees. It's very green even though we are in a drought. When we arrive Peter stands by a door to a small house.

"December, this is your surprise. Sam and I thought you having your own place would, give you more freedom. Also he and I travel a bunch, but with the baby coming we won't be traveling as often. And with a baby crying all the time, we thought you should be able to get some sleep at least." Elita says swiftly.

"I don't kknoww, tthank you so much. It's beautiful." I say, as Sam parks the car in the driveway. I get out of the car and rush to see the small two story house. They put two bedrooms upstairs and a kitchen/living room down stairs. This house was what I wanted when I was little and dreamed that I would always have a family that would love me. I never had told anyone about it expect for... "You remembered!" I gasp as Sam comes into the house.

"How could I forget? You said that you wanted your own house. I thought this would be a good gift for  your sixteenth birthday!" Sam says, clearly pleased with himself. He gives me a quick hug before I take off to the spiral staircase that leads to roof for skylight. I can't believed he remembered. I can't stop smiling.

Elita looks at me and sees my happy expression before telling Sam. I had my own house. I knew the one person I wanted to share it with. Peter.

As nightfall comes, Elita comes with all my clothes. I had told Peter that I wanted him to stay in the other upstairs room and he agrees. I've never smiled so much in my life. I knew that, all good things come to an end, just like today. But now that I have a mom and dad, nothing could wipe a smile off of my face.

Its the first day of November break, when I wake to the smell pancakes downstairs. I walk down the stairs, wiping the sleep out of my eyes. It's when I get downstairs, that I realized I forgot to change. Peter stares as I sit on the stool by the counter.

   "What?" I ask.

  "Nothing," he says.

"Would you like me to change, cause that's not a problem..." I say.

"If you're comfortable, then I'm fine. You can stay in that long shirt that your wearing." Peter says quickly.

"OK, but no more staring." I demand.

"That's fine." he says, without another word. As the pancakes start to cook, I set the table. Before I knew it, the pancakes were ready and we ate them slowly, talking along the way.

"I'll wash," I say, after we are both finished.

"OK, I'll clear and then we can do something, if you'd like." he replies.

"Deal," I put my hand out. As he takes it, he pulls me closer and kisses me.

"Deal," he says after a moment or two. I smile, while he smirks.
