Another day of school. The dreadful Viking High School where all dreams are crushed and turned into nightmares.
It's now starting the end of the last grading period and I am counting down the days to the last day of school. 38 Days till the best day of my life.
The only thing that I really like about school is my goofy friends. They make any day better. Especially my best friend Audrey she is the one that knows me best out of all of them, well the best that I will allow anyone to know about me.
As soon as I wake up I drag myself out of bed to jump in the shower. Usually I take quick showers not wanting to be one of those girls that take 20 minute showers, which is a regular shower for some, according to my parents it's not. But today I take a little longer than 5 minutes.
As soon as I get out of the shower I quickly dry off and brush my long brown hair. When it's brushed out, I brush my teeth and slip on a pair of black leggings and a high cut light blue shirt. For shoes, I put on a pair of worn out white tennis shoes.
Now I was done getting ready and it only took me 20 minutes, would of been fifteen if I didn't take so long in the shower.
I walk out into the kitchen scanning the fridge searching for any leftovers ready for the taking. And of coarse there is my favorite kind of meal waiting to be eaten. Orange chicken!! I know Chinese, gross but I love it, and Chinese as well. Most of my friends hate it but that's their problem. Their missing out.
After I eat I sit in the living room, plopping on the new furniture we got with my orange chicken and the tv remote in my hand. Right now it is 7 o'clock leaving me 45 minutes to watch netflix. Leaving me and my show "The Walking Dead."
At 7:45 I leave to walk to school. Luckily, I only live 3 blocks away, but that is a good thing and a bad thing. Meaning that the good is you never need a ride to school but the bad is you always will hear the football games and the dance music. But I try to look on the bright side most of the time.
When I start walking, I realize that there is a figure walking close behind me. Though I basically just walked out of my house? And no one was walking when I came out.
I turn my head to the side and see who it is. And to my surprise he actually looks kind of cute. Snap out of it Brooke remember your agreement!
I turn my head back around I think to myself about how could he sneak up behind me? I shake my head, hike up my backpack, and continue to walk faster.
I arrive at school to find my friends waiting for me at the door. Audrey is standing right by it tapping her foot and crossing her arms. Her eyes meet mine and she runs toward me at full speed. As she approaches me I cringe hoping she's not going to hit me or anything, she's known for doing that to people. Instead she comes up to me and stares at me with her big wide green eyes. Tears form in them and start to stream down her face. Her lip trembles and I give her a soft smile knowing that it has to do with her parents. I put my arm around her shoulder and walk inside to the girls bathroom. I turn my head again to see the kid following me. His eyes meet mine for a second and we both look away. I smile and I don't know why. When me and Audrey arrive at the bathroom I immediately pull her into a tight hug showing her that I'm there for her. She might not know that much about me but I know that I will always be there for my friends.
She cries into my shoulder for a while we don't speak to each other until she pulls her head up sniffling. Her eyes are puffy and red but I don't care. I genuine smile and say "What happened and do I need to hurt someone or do I need to give them a very thoughtful discussion?" She laughs and I am happy to see her happy.
It takes her a few minutes to speak, finding the strength not to burst out into tears again I assume. "It's my dad, this morning right before school he told me that he was glad that I leave everyday because he wished he never had me as his daughter." She mumbles, her lip twitches again and I think to myself that's not ok. Instead of comforting her I say "Well he said the wrong thing because your a pretty damn funny and confident person. Maybe I will just have to have "the talk" with your dad so he knows what to do so he doesn't have kids. He's to stupid to figure out he has the best daughter in the whole wide world." I say my smile getting wider as I see Audrey's smile grow.
"Thanks I can always count on you to cheer me up Nancey Drew." I smile knowing that she's now in a good mood. Nancey Drew is a nickname she gave me. I gave her one but it's not as good, Saudrey was all I could come up with. I really need to find a new one...
