If I cheat in school, who am I really cheating? Well first, let me just say people cheat for many reasons. I'll admit it I do cheat on some assignments. Many people cheat but we don't really think about who else it cheats unless we have to write about it. Cheating can be the best or worst thing ever. I hardly cheat unless I absolutely have to. I do let people cheat off of me more than I get answers. Giving the answers is just as bad as receiving the answers. I don't usually cheat on very important tests but I do know people who do.
There are many reasons for cheating other than not knowing the answers. Some times people cheat when they don't have time to think about the answers. When the assignment is due next hour but you don't have time to do the work. I cheat when I know I'm failing the test but I at least want to get one right. Even when I know how to get an answer I'll still cheat to save time. The problem with cheating is that it's so easy now days. Last year we had a class cheat because they wanted to get the best improvement and go to Wet and Wild. Now days we can get answers fairly easy. We have all the answers at our finger tips. We can text some one to get an answer. We can get on Google and look up the answer. We can whisper to our friends. I'm not stupid enough to tell you all the ways we can cheat because there are some pretty sly people out there.
Cheating can cause many things. It can cause you to ace a test you didn't study for. Cheating can also cause you to fail a test because you got caught cheating. Cheating is wrong, there's no way around it. It's wrong but, there are so many worse things people do. If you get caught cheating don't argue about it unless you weren't really cheating. If you're talking during a test say it loud so others and the teacher know what you're saying or else they're automatically think you're cheating. You can get into a lot of trouble for cheating so it's best to avoid it. There's not a better way to say it but, stop being lazy and don't cheat.
When one cheats, they're not only hurting them, they hurt their teachers and the school. It doesn't hurt the teacher or the school more than it hurts the person cheating. When the teacher thinks every one understands the subject on hand they move on with the lesson. Cheating causes a chain reaction. When there's one person cheating there's a huge chance there's some one else cheating as well. The teacher thinks you are learning because you can get the right answer. They move on, think you're ready for the harder parts of what ever you're learning. Then there you are with your thumb in your mouth because you didn't understand what you were learning before. Then when comes to the state test you're going to fail because you didn't learn it.
My brother used to tell my mom, "I can either try to learn it and I'll my best and fail or I can cheat and pass." It's true because no one cares if you understand it, just as long as you get the right answer in the end. When colleges look at your grades, that's all they check. The colleges don't care if you don't know how to do something because you passed that class. They assume you know what you were taught. You can try to learn something and do the work yourself and get a bad grade; at least they can see that you don't understand it. The problem with that is, if you fail, you get a bad grade then you're grade in the class goes down, then there goes your GPA, then you lose all your college acceptance letters, then say good bye to your future. That's what's wrong in this country. No one cares if you don't understand something. As long as you get good grades then you're future is good. Grades is everything in this day and age. You can get the best grades but that doesn't mean you understand anything but that doesn't matter anyways, right?
I let people copy off of me all the time. Letting some one copy is just as bad as cheating. I'm letting them get my answers. They will get the answers but they won't understand the question. They're not learning anything if they copy. Sure they get good grades but it doesn't mean anything if you cheated to get that grade. Unless you can tell me how and why you got the answer you did, you did not learn anything. It's just like they used to tell us in class, don't cheat off your friend because they can't help you on the state tests. You have to learn or else you're going to pass the class but you won't pass the tests that are truly important. Don't cheat and don't let some one else cheat. You are cheating your self, your school and your class mates.
