The store was the kind of place that made me afraid to breathe too hard.

Everything looked expensive.

The polished floors reflected the warm lights hanging from the ceiling, clothes were arranged perfectly on racks, and the glass displays held shoes and accessories that probably cost more than everything in my closet combined.

I picked up a gold dress and ran my fingers over the fabric. It was soft, really soft.

I turned it around and checked the price.

My eyebrows shot up.

"Absolutely not," I muttered, I put it back like it had personally offended me.

"What?" Behind me, Sal stated

"Nothing" I voiced, no way was I going to let him know a simple price tag almost gave me a stroke and knowing Sal he would buy the dress.

He narrowed his eyes at me before looking back at his phone.

I continued walking, it was a calm thursday afternoon. And even though Sal was behaving extremely wierd yesterday, he seemed more relaxed and comfortable today.

I wasn't even sure why I was shopping.

Salvatore had insisted I needed more clothes, and apparently, telling him I had enough clothes hadn't been an acceptable answer. So now I was wandering around an expensive store while his men carried the bags behind us.

I picked up another dress.

Too dull.

I sighed and put it back.

Then my thoughts drifted to my phone. I hadn't seen it since the day Sal kidnapped me

I hadn't been able to call Olivia.

I hadn't been able to call my mother.

I didn't even know if they were ok, The thought made something twist painfully in my chest.

I missed them and I missed my normal life.

Even if my normal life wasn't exactly perfect, at least it had been mine.

I looked around until I spotted one of Salvatore's men standing near the entrance. He was looking down at his phone.

I walked toward him.

"Can I borrow your phone?" I asked, He looked at me, Then his eyes shifted toward Salvatore.

I sighed.

"I'm not asking to run away. I just want to make a phone call."

He hesitated for a moment before handing it to me.

"Thank you," I said.

I walked a little farther away from everyone before looking at the screen.

My fingers hovered over the keypad.

I knew Olivia's number by heart, we made each other learn our numbers incase something terrible happened. It felt like months since I heard from them, I've been so carried away by everything I forgot about them.
