Wonderland

There was beautiful forest that people walked through everyday. It was gorgeous; green trees, green vines. Everything was green. Nature was everywhere too. Butterflies were constantly flying around. The whole atmosphere; it was perfect.

One day, two best friends decided to visit the forest that was talked about amongst many people. They didn't believe the forest was as gorgeous as everyone claimed. But as soon as they entered the forest on the path, they couldn't keep their eyes off of all of their surroundings.

Damon walked alongside his best friend, Julie. Julie was adventurous and loved the outdoors. You would never find her in her house. Instead, you'd find her in the woods by the creek 1 mile from her house. She was good for throwing pebbles across the water. When Julie was focused, the world grew silent. At least to her. Once she was focused on something, she couldn't stop focusing on it. Julie was just that curious.

"Damon, isn't it gorgeous here?" Julie asked excitedly, looking off to the side, up in the forest trees as they walked.

Damon nodded, keeping his eyes ahead of him. "It's very gorgeous, Jules." He found himself smiling. Was it because of the beauty of nature or because of the way Jules  sounded perfectly passing over his lips?

They continued on, following the path for several more minutes. Damon was watching the waterfall off to the left while carefully watching his steps. The water below was dark but the falling water was white. A beautiful snow white. He smiled, yet again, and paused to get Julie's attention.

When he turned his head to the right, Julie wasn't beside him. Damon's eyes wandered aimlessly through the groups of people walking past him. Finally, he spotted Julie up in the forest, between the trees. His eyebrows furrowed. She was climbing up the rocky and dirty hill. But why?

He stopped wondering and made his way across the path to the bottom of the hill. "Jules!" He whispered loudly. She didn't look down or behind her. She kept her feet climbing up. The hill was a bit steep but not too bad, thankfully.

Damon dug his heels into the dirt and carefully made his way up, grasping at any stiff rocks or branches he could lay his hands on. He kept on until he was right behind her. She was seated sideways on the hill. Her eyes weren't focused on him but on something in the tree beside them.

"Look, it's a gem. Attached to the branch, hanging by a string." She spoke breathlessly, gazing up at the gem in awe. Damon glanced up at the gem but saw nothing special about it. Instead his mind was focused on something else. At this point, he didn't care that he had lost Julie but that she was safe. Not being able to help himself, his eyes traveled back down to the real beauty in front of him.

Her.

He watched her eyes stay steady on the gem above. They were focused. She was yet again, very focused. The way she could keep her attention on one particular thing, made her even more unique and special. Jules was special in Damon's eyes.

His gaze traveled down to her half parted lips. Little did she know how badly he wanted to press his empty lips onto hers. His lips wanted to taste her. It wasn't the first time he had wanted this. But it was the first time he wanted this, very badly.

At first he didn't see her turning her head to look down at him, but once he saw those lips close and her eyes move, he realized. Immediately, he locked his lustful yet eager eyes onto hers. Her hand slowly came up and tucked a piece of her hair behind her ear. Her eyes never left his.

Then, she did something she had never done before. She bit her lip and broke her gaze.
