"Lacey! Get up, it's time to say bye to everyone before we leave," my mom exclaims. I roll out of bed with a groan, annoyed that I have to move again.

From a young age, I've moved a total of seven times because of my dad's job. I really hate moving because I never get any time to make real friends.

Although, there's always good things in everything and in this case it's that I learnt a lot of different things. I mean, how many people can say they've been around the world? ME!

I take a quick shower and dress in black ripped jeans, a white crop top, and black vans. I then dry my light brown, layered hair and leave it in its natural wavy state.

I put on very little makeup like I usually do. I understand why we use it but when people decide to walk around looking like they've been attacked by crayons, well that's not my style. I decide to put some mascara on my light green eyes and light pink lipstick on my dark, plump lips.

I head downstairs and find all my friends including my boyfriend, Elliot. Lisa sees me first and raps me up in a bear hug. "I'm going to miss you so much! I can't believe your leaving Canada after you've been here for three years," she says.

I pull away with a sad face and say, "I'm going to miss you so much. I really-"

Vanessa interrupts me by pulling me into her own hug, "Don't worry about it, it's not your fault besides it's California! You'll have so much fun!"

We pull away and I'm almost on the verge of tears. I turn to see Elliot but she quickly pulls me by my wrist and adds, "Don't forget us though. We'll miss you like hell."

I nod before turning to see Elliot fiddling with his fingers. "I'm going to miss you Elliot. I love you," I begin. He turns to look at me and smiles but it doesn't reach his eyes. "I know we promised to do a long distance relationship but I'm going to miss you- all of you- every single day. It's going to be hard not being on the cheerleading team with you girls or cheering at your soccer games, Elliot. I'm probably never going to find friends like you because you guys are literally the best. My point is I will miss you guys so much," I finish.

At the end of my speech, Lisa starts crying and Elliot looks very sad. We say our last goodbyes and promise to text each other to keep one another updated.

The girls both leave but Elliot stays behind. I face him with a confused look.

He pulls out a black rectangular box and clears his throat. He nervously lifts the lid and I gasp at the stunning necklace. It has a heart pendant and in back it says 'forever and always ~Elliot'.

"Thank you! I love it so much," I squeal, hugging him.

He chuckles and hugs me back, "I love you, Lacey. I hope this long distance relationship thing works well. You'll be happy in California, just remember me. Forever and always?"

He turns me around and puts the necklace on me.

I start thinking about how Troy did this to Gabriella in the movie High School Musical and begin to chant the song in my head.

I never believed in
What I couldn't see
I never opened my heart
Ohhh
Too all the possibilities, ohh

"Lacey," he says, shaking me. "Huh? Oops, sorry," I say laughing.

"Forever and always, Elliot," I repeat and gently kiss him before leaving.
