LACEY'S P.O.V.

This morning, I didn't wake up to the sun or my alarm like any normal person but someone on top of me while I'm trying to sleep.

Good morning to you too, Jackson.

I groan, "Jackson, get off of me!"

He pouts, "I wanted to reenact a Superman scene from the movie."

"We'll do that some other time when I'm not sleeping," I say pushing him off.

I nuzzle my head back into my pillow only to be shaken by Jackson jumping on my bed. I groan, covering my my head with my pillow.

"Lacey, look! I'm superman, catch me," he exclaims bouncing off the bed and onto me. "Ow," I scream, "Jackson, you're so lucky you're cute."

His face breaks into a smile, "We'll play again later."

Geez, I hope not.

He scurries out of my room to eat breakfast while I get ready for school in my uniform adding a cute black bandana. After joining my family for breakfast which is gourmet cereal, I get in my car and drive to school.

Day two of school, ew.

Well it's not that bad now that I know some people.

I walk into school, still feeling some eyes burning into the back of my head since it's only the second day I've been here.

My first and second period classes go by very quickly. I walk into my second class of the day which is English and take a seat next to Sam and Lucas just as the bell rings. The teacher arrives shortly after.

"How do you like it here so far," Lucas questions.

"Not horrible. I miss home and all but I know people now so it's all good. Do you guys know Jasmine, Nicole, Ethan, and Mason? I met them yesterday in geography," I explain.

I'm secretly hoping that we could all become friends even though I didn't see them even glance at one another yesterday. Then again, this isn't High School Musical but that would be awesome.

"Oh, them? They're just the most popular people at school so we talk every single day," Sam replies with sarcasm dripping in his tone. "I knew they'd get to you," he says, shaking his head.

"This isn't Mean Girls, Sam. They're actually really nice " I defend, laughing. "Do you want to eat lunch together today," I ask them, reassuring them that I'll be friends with both groups.

"Ah, yes! I think paying for our lunch would ease the blow on our little duckling moving to a new pond," Lucas says, sighing dramatically.

"Your such a drama queen," Sam mutters, chuckling while I just burst into laughter.

"There's this really good pizzeria close to the school, off campus. We could go there to eat.? I think it's called Gino's, or Tino's," Lucas explains, trailing off. "Anyways, the food's great," he finishes.

I nod along with Sam just as the teacher walks in.

Obviously the food will be great, it's Italian!

The school bell chimes, warning us that the period is over. Like if I wasn't already glaring at the clock, hoping that it would ring.

We briskly take our belongings and walk to the restaurant.

"My zio taught me how to make a mean pizza in Italy when I lived there for two years because we're one hundred percent Italian and he found it important to teach me that before I could ride a bike. Hashtag dedication," I say, jokingly. "Let's see if this pizza can compare to my awesome chef skills," I jokingly announce.
