Chapter 3 : Stop Trying To Be My Friend

I am now sitting at a table with damon and caroline. No its not awkward at all. I notice caroline wearing a scarf . Its not scarf season. Oh my goodness. Damon bit her again. And now he is in my house. Damon smirking at me and stefan watching me. Fun , fun , fun. Caroline breaks the awkward silence.

"i cannot believe that mr. Tanner let you on the team. Tyler must be seething. But good for you. Go for it." caroline encourages , kind of. I nod in agreement.

"that's what i always tell him. You have to engage. You can't just sit there and wait for life to come to you. You have to go get it." damon says.

"yeah, elena wasn't so lucky today. It's only because you missed summer camp. God, i don't know how you're ever going to learn the routines." caroline says. I snort and elena gives me a pleading look to behave , i nod.

"i'll work with her. She'll get it." bonnie responds. I smile. I snort again cause i cant get the image of elena looking lost during cheer.

"i guess we can put her in the back." caroline suggests. I glare at her that's so disrespectful.

"you know , you don't seem like the cheerleader type elena." damon inputs. I smirk this is gonna be good. Elena glares at me and i whistle.

"i only did it because i was tricked." she replies enforcing the word tricked on the end. I snort again. I need to stop that's the third time tonight. Damon watches in amusement.

"how were you tricked ?" stefan asks. I give elena a look so i can tell the story. She nods and i smile to everyone except for damon.

"so it was freshman year and i wanted to be a cheerleader but elena was being all bitchy saying cheerleaders are whores and no one respects them and stuff. But after a while i realized i didn't want to cheer , but tryouts were the next week and i knew if i didn't go elena wouldn't so the day of tryouts i acted like i was going but when the two captains weren't looking i switched elena and i names."

"When elena found out i lied and didn't show up and i tried out for track instead she was livid. She made me dye my hair to brown and straighten it. We were both pissed that year." i say grimacing at the memory. Damon and stefan both burst out laughing and elena glared at them. I mean it was pretty funny. Caroline smiled at the sisterly situation. Bonnie was laughing as well.

"the fact that you switched the papers." stefan says snorting. I bite my lip to keep from laughing.

"no , no , the fact that elena said cheerleaders are whores and disrespected but she's one now." damon laughs. I burst out laughing . Elena throws a bread roll at him.

"arielle , you run track ?" stefan asks. I nod. Elena rolls her eyes. I laugh and get out of my chair and give her a big hug and a kiss on the cheek. She playfully gags but returns the hug. I then sit back down. They talk about other things that i didn't pay attention to.

"can i be dismissed lena please ?" i pout at her. She glares at me.

"no , you tried to get away once." she scolds me.

"and i should've." i shot back , sticking my tongue out at her. Then i shove the pasta in my mouth. Damon snorts and i glare at him.

Unfortunately im on dishwashing duty and i hum the glee ending song. And my clumsy self drops the last glass. A swift wind behind me catches the glass before it breaks. I sigh in relief and get ready to thank the person that caught it. Until i saw damon's smug look. I roll my eyes. Fuck that thank you.

"i like you. You know how to laugh. And you make stefan smile, which is something i haven't seen in a very long time." damon says to me. Okay and ?

"im not elena , damon." i tell him.
