"What" Akim screamed out, he was laughing at the same time, Broon was going crazy and Akim didn't know what to do at all. "You serious" Akim asked.
"Why would i lie." Broon said. He started to walk towards the town, they had been standing right next to the village. The village itself wasn't in its peak, the houses made out of wood, only a couple of them had cobblestone on them, and those were the stores.
The sun was starting to fall, and Akim was trying to keep up with Broon, walking through the small town of theirs Broon was rambling off some words. "Think about it, we could leave tonight, and by morning we would be through the woods and be heading straight for Mildrew.
"Mildrew" Akim asked in disgust. Mildrew was the neighboring pond town, they had built their foundation atop the river, they were famous for their fishing, giving their own town a bad reputation when travelers come through, since they couldn't top them. "I would rather climb the mountains and head straight for Trung" Akim spit out.
Broon laughed, walking through the whole town the two of them stopped in front of Broons home, Akim's house wasn't far just up ahead. Broons house was made out of complete dark wood, though thats all you could find in the forrest, it was nicer looking than the other houses, Broons dad had a nifty hand.
Their small town called Drelm, was surrounded by tall dark wood tree's for a couple miles, home to many animals, it was scary already during the day but during night it almost felt like something was staring at you from afar. There was a path made out but it was still safer to head out during the morning. Even the strongest of the strong couldn't shake out that feeling.
"And why during the night..." Akim said, he seemed to calm down, the thought of it scared him.
"Because" Broon yelled, his voice now entering a whisper "No one is stupid enough to travel through the night" Broon said, he had a wide smile.
Akim gave him a concerning look.
"Think about it" Broon said. "We could learn magic on the road, im sure our dads have Magic books somewhere in the house, especially yours"
Broon was right, Akims dad was a Magic Professor that worked in Furbin, the city past Mildrew. He wasn't the best, but he knew magic, and taught in a well city. Though the two places were far away, he would always send mail every month. A little box full of letters, stories, things that they might need. He hadn't always been a teacher, he had lived in Drelm for 5 years of Akims life before he needed to branch out. The only memory he had of his father was that his eyes were as green as emerald, and his black hair, if looked at the perfect moment, was a bright lime green. Probably something with the light.
Akim looked more like his mother than his father, the only thing he got from him was his height, eyes, and chin. His chin at the age of 16 had developed fully, he looked a lot older than Broon did even though Broon was older than him, and looked more manly than any other town boy in the area. A lady's man.
Broon on the other hand was frail looking, at least thats how it looked, underneath the ragged clothing he was fit, and developing muscles although he wasn't an active person. "What can i do to convince you?" Broon asked.
Akim thought about it for a while, but for some reason he wasn't having trouble with this idea. He hadn't seen his dad in forever, and he wanted to meet him bad. "Fine. We meet near the path of the forrest" Akim said, Broon was already up his steps, but Akim stopped him before he could enter his house.
"Ey. If things start to go south. I go back" Akim said, he had his foot down. "You can go on ahead without me" Akim said.
All Broon did was nod his head, blasting through his door he was gone from Akims sight. He sighed turning towards his house he started to walk.
---------
Broon was rummaging through his clothing, he had passed his mom who was making dinner for the night, and behind him, his little sister Anella was talking about how her other friend Cyndi who had gone inside the forrest and came back with a dead bird.
He wasn't really paying attention to her, she would be talking about her for a couple of hours. As he was packing up everything that he might need for the long trip. From Drelm to Terrenus, that was, about a 15-27 day, a month tops. His room was practically empty at this point, he had a whole bag. All the while Anella was talking about Cyndi.
He was so excited though that he forgot about the Magic books, sneaking into his mom and dads room he started to look around, trying to not leave any sign of infiltration. He had given up after a good 5 minutes, turning to Anella. Dropping to his knees to Anellas height, he looked at her she was still talking about her annoying friend Cyndi and her dead bird. "Ane" Broon asked. That was Anella's nickname he had given her from when she was 3, and it just stuck
"Yea?"
"Does dad have any super secret books? Im sure you know something."
"Mmmmmmm i dont think so, but Cyndi might have something"
"What?"
"Yea she was talking about using it to do some magic stuff on the bird"
"What" Broon almost yelled out, he had caught his voice before alarming his mother. "You think you can convince her to give it to me?"
Ane sat there thinking about it for a while. "I dont know, but we can go ask her" Ane said. At this point, Broon was ok with anything, he didn't want to seem weak to Akim. He didn't know why he thought that, but he had that urge for some reason.
*I bet he's swimming in his dads secret magic book pile right now...* Broon thought.
----------
Akim at this point was backed against the corner, his mom holding a knife, wild eye'd, she started to laugh uncontrollably, behind her a complete mess, chairs on the floor, her eyes were glowing a greenish/redish color. Akim was holding a old looking book that was also glowing. What had he done.
