I realise it almost instantly. Nico. The man called Pluto, he said that my brother is called Nico. That I must find him. He can't be my brother.
"Bianca." Nico nods his head as he gets up. "You know Hazel. Make her remember her past. Just the time in Camp Jupiter for now."
Bianca looks over at me. As I look into her dark eyes, I realise that they are exactly like Nico's. Then, I am not there anymore.
I am chased by monsters. I dash into a tunnel, while two people behind me, dressed in Roman armour and armed with weapons, slice the demons behind me into dust. I run to the end of the tunnel, and I emerge into a valley, dotted with white Roman-styled buildings.
The scene changes. I see myself and Nico, sitting on the roof of a house, a cabin, while I make gems appear on the tiles.
Then, I see a person. No. Not person. From the waist down, he is a goat, with furry legs and cloven hooves. A faun.
"Don, don't!" I see myself snatch up a diamond from the ground.
The visions end and my knees buckle. "Hazel!" Nico grabs my arm just as my knees are grazed on the ground.
He looks at me questioningly. "How long was I out?" I mumble as I get back on my feet.
"You weren't out at all, Hazel, I just showed you your life, two years ago," Bianca says. "Nico went to Camp Jupiter with you. He's your half-brother."
"What..." My voice trails off as I try to process the crazy information.
"Hazel, let's just focus on the task," Frank, who has been quiet for the whole conversation, nudges me and says. I nod.
"Goodbye, then, Nico and Hazel," Bianca says as she shimmers and disappears, leaving us with an empty pit.
"There's another way out of this arena," Nico says, gripping the hilt of his sword tightly.
"What?" Frank asks as he eats another small piece of ambrosia.
"It's risky, so I am not going to tell you guys yet. Let's try Plan A first," Nico warns and turns towards the cliff that drops into nothingness.
We skirted around the edge of the cliff, gingerly stepping on the rocks and making sure we didn't crumble the rocks and fall into the abyss below.
Nico stopped walking somewhere a mile away from where we met him. "Here. I can sense it," he tells me as he glances down at the bottomless pit.
We grab whatever we can salvage that can act as a rope.
"Who first?" Nico says as he peers over the ledge.
Silence. After a while, Nico hands me the rope. "Oh well, if none of you are going, I might as well. After all, Hades is giving me a good place to stay in if I die," he says as he positions himself carefully balanced on the edge of the cliff.
Frank grabs the rope and I help Nico tie himself around the waist.
"Let's do this," Nico says, and we start lowering him into the chasm.
