I fall into a peaceful sleep. We are woken by Jason as the first rays of dawn appear on the horizon through the pines.

I get up and take out some food from my pack. We munch on the last of the crackers and bread. We will need to find food soon.

"What should we do now?" Jason says. I shrug. Just then, a cannon fires and a lightning bolt strikes a tree in the distance. Then, a face appears in midair, like a holograph. A skinny boy with a mop of tousled hair, and a sneer on his face. Beside me, Jason gasps and recoils from the picture.

A name flashes underneath it, and then some sort of title:

"Octavion, Legacy of Apollo".

Then, "Killed by Clarisse la Rue".

Both names seem familiar, but I can't place them again. Jason looks horrified now. The image disappears and Jason stares at the empty space where it was.

We spend the day trying to hunt for food. Killed? Why? Octavion looked horrible, and evil, but surely he didn't deserve to die? I ignore the thought and focus on getting today's tasks done.

Piper finds some berries that are apparently edible, and Frank proves to be good with his bow when he shoots down five rabbits, hitting them in the head so the meat is perfect.

We sit around and I light a miserably small fire. Then, we roast the rabbits over the weak flames. Once they look cooked, we take a leg each and eat our lunch.

We continue to hunt and keep some food in our packs for dinner.  After that, Jason and Piper take first watch and I tuck myself into the sleeping bag, falling asleep almost instantly, exhausted from the long day.

There is a room, and it looks like it's made for giants. Twelve thrones are arranged in an inverted "U" shape. They are mostly unoccupied, but two of them are. A man with a long beard, wearing a Hawaiian beach T-shirt and beach shorts sits on the one directly in front of me. Another older looking man with a strange spear-like thing, which is crackling with electricity, in his hand is perched on the throne next to his.

There's another man, wearing a black cloak, standing in front of the two thrones. The cloak has patterns of tortured faces, swriling in and out of existence.

"Brother, you know they are not willing to kill. Only Ares's child, that Clarisse la Rue, will," the man in the beach outfit says.

"Poseidon, that kid of yours is going to need to prove that he's worthy!" The oldest man glares at Beach Outfit Guy, Poseidon, and his weapon crackles with electricity.

"My son is in there too! Just give them back their memories, don't make them fight each other! You're going to start a war! The last time the demigods fought, look what happened! A civil war!" The man standing in front yells, his eyes filled with rage.

I sit bolt upright in my sleeping bag. What's a demigod? Who were those giants? And most of all, what was going on? They had mentioned Clarisse la Rue, the girl who killed Octavion. What has it got to do with her?
