"So Katie, it appears that you're all healthy. You've yet to gain wait but that'll happen soon enough." I listen as the doctor tells me that I'll soon explode and have a giant belly. Not looking forward to that.
"You're about 9 weeks along. Would you like to hear the heartbeat?"
Of course I wanted to hear the heartbeat but I want to know what it is more. "Um, yes please. Is it too soon to know the sex?"
"Yeah, you still have a couple more weeks before we'll be able to tell you that." Dr. Beth explains as she turns up the volume so we can hear.
The sound of my baby's heartbeat quickly fills the room. Tears form in my eyes. It's the most amazing thing I've ever heard. That's my baby. I'm creating a little living human.
Liz speaks up. "Jack was so stupid to walk out. He's going to regret missing out on all of this."
No one, even Liz, has heard from Jack.
I had texted him many times. No response. It worries me. I understand he doesn't want a baby but he didn't have to drop off the face of the earth and ignore everyone.
Especially his family. I don't get how someone can walk out on the family and baby. It's just wrong.
