III :: The Princess?

"Good horse," I said while rubbing the horse's back.

It's been two minutes since my last interaction with the mysterious maiden, and her mask is still with me, I kept it in my pocket in case.

I don't know if what I'm doing is trespassing, but I am enjoying what I'm doing.

Tumunog ang phone ko kaya tinignan ko yun.

'Akari (+639232343213): Kuya, where are you? It's almost starting, get your butt in here!'

'Me to Akari: Tell me, what will happen if I arrive late? Nothing right? I'm not satisfied with my detour yet.' I replied.

Ayoko naman talagang pumasok dun sa palasyo. Oo, maraming aircon, malamig, pero sa dami ng tao? Maraming amoy din yan, ayokong mahilo.

'Akari (+639232343213): Yes, nothing big will really happen. Mom will just scold you and confiscate all your books about law and your phone. Nothing big right? ;-)'

I rolled my eyes. My sister is so annoying. One, she's being sarcastic with me. Two, she used that disgusting wink emoji.

Dahil wala na 'kong magawa, bumalik na ko sa palasyo. Sa labas, nakita ko si dad.

"Dad, what're you doing?" I asked.

"Oh, your mom and your sister told me to wait for you here. 'better make sure he comes' they said."

Napabuntong hininga nalang ako. Tinapik ni dad ang balikat ko at pumasok na kami.

"By the way, dad, is this supposed to be a masquerade ball?" I asked. That maiden was wearing a mask so I assume it is.

"Masquerade? I don't think so. Wala naman silang sinabi. At yung mga tao na nakita namin kanina, hindi naman naka-mask. Why do you ask, Haru?"

If its not, then why was she wearing one? Strange.

"It's nothing big, really." I replied nonchalantly.

Maraming nang tao sa loob. Nakita naman kaagad namin sina Akari, hindi pa kasi sila pumasok sa ballroom.

"What took you so long, Haru?" Tanong ni mama habang sinusulat ang mga pangalan naming apat sa guest list.

"I second to that! What took you so long, Kuya?"

Ginaya-gaya ko ang sinabi ni Akari kaya sinabunutan niya ko ng mahina.

"I told you. Detour." I replied briefly. Hindi ko na sila pinasagot pa at umuna na ko sa ballroom.

Hinabol ako ni Akari at sinuntok ng mahina ang braso ko kaya sinamaan ko siya ng tingin.
