Haruki

"Prince what?!"

She took a step back, "I-I know. I know it may be too much to ask, but I don't see anyone else that can be the prince consort except you."

My eyebrows furrowed, "Do you even realize how big the duty of the prince consort is?! And you're simply going to entrust it to somebody you have just met?!" I wasn't able to hold back.

"W-wai--"

"The king and the queen is giving you the opportunity to choose your prince consort because they believe in you! Are you just going to break their trust by getting me, someone who doesn't even know how to rule a place?! Why are you being a klutz in making decisions?! Aren't you the princess?!"

Then, I realized that I was too much. Shit. You let anger take over you again, Haru.

"Why is that? D-don't you want to rule the kingdom with me soon?" She asked.

Crap. To be asked something like that, it's hard to answer it. If I said I do, then I'll regret it. If I said no, I might offend the princess and get imprisoned.

I massaged my forehead, "That's not something you should ask to somebody who has dreams." I whispered, but I'm sure they heard it.

Chiharu was just standing there, looking at us.

I turned my back, "Look, you better think this over."

She was about to talk back but Chiharu held her.

"Princess, please think this over. I'm not saying that Mr. Realton is not fit to be your prince consort, but please, think about your subjects. Think about what will happen if that man will rule with you." Chiharu said calmly. "Haruki, thank you for escorting her highness."

I bowed and excused myself. The knights outside bowed but I ignored them. Damn it.

I walked. I'm going to tell mom that we should go home, whether the party's done or not. The guests looked at me suspiciously and some were even glaring.

Napatigil ako nang may humawak sa kamay ko. Paglingon ko, nandun si Chiharu.

"May I talk with you for a while, Haruki?"

I looked at her in the eyes. This may be a question, but this is a question that can only be answered by a yes. And so, I agreed.
