*Brice POV*
I tried to barricade myself in the room with locks and furniture. Who knows what would happen. Laying down on my bed, I tried to sleep it off. To remove Seto from me at this moment. Hello blackness, I thought as my eyes closed and I slipped into unconsciousness.
*Seto POV*
I raced home as soon as that scene was finished. Brice was going to finally learn how to brew proper potions; with me. A war was about to break out and I knew that we had to prepare.
I pulled the lever that went down into the brewery. Placing the ingredients onto the desk, I sat in front of the brewing station. Invisibility, Health, Speed, Poison and Weakness. The final two obviously weren't for us. After they all were brewed, I realised that Brice wasn't here. I searched the whole fortress, only to find his room locked and barred shut
I carefully unlocked the door and forced the door open. Brice was sleeping peacefully, a lock of hair fallen over his face. I moved it out of the way and caressed his face. He stirred and I quickly withdrew my hand. What was I thinking? I couldn't do things like that. I ran to my room to find something that I needed.
My room was a mess and it was hard to find a way to the bed, let alone find a satchel. I did a quick spell to find it, only for it to be revealed that it wasn't in the room. A vivid purple ball of light led me downstairs, into the brewery room. I must've left it there when I was brewing the potions. The clanking of machinery was ringing in my ears but I remembered turning them off. I muttered a small spell, a spell that rendered all noises that I made silent. Creeping around the corner, I found Brice at work, arranging ingredients and creating potions.
Those potions weren't any old potions, they were potions that had never been seen before. I watched him create a pale pink potion. I tapped him on the shoulder and took down the Silence Shield. He jumped and turned around with a look of horror on his face. Brice knew that he was caught, and he knew that it was bad.
"I-I can explain,"
"Then explain,"Brice hesitated, it seemed that he actually couldn't explain himself.
"That's what I thought,"
*Brice POV*
"That's what I thought,"
There wasn't any way to explain it. Seto couldn't know that I heard about the war and wanted to help. I tried to explain to him and at the same time, avoid mentioning the battle."I wanted to create something that helps us during the war,"
The look that Seto gave me showed that he didn't at all believe me. Yet he decided to play along.
"Well, okay then, show me what you've made," Seto smirked at me
I didn't know what it would do to him. The concoction was a work in progress. I tried to hide it away from him but he snatched it out of my palm. He downed it, until the entire bottle was gone.
"Hit me,"
The words surprised me; I didn't know what to do.
"Like-like punch you?"
"Yeah! Do it, it doesn't seem to do any effect so far,"I force all of my strength into my arm and wallop him across the head. He collapses and I rush over to him, health potion in hand.
He steadies himself and stands up.
"INCREDIBLE! IT SEEMS TO BRING BACK YOUR HEALTH OVER TIME!"
Just then, a loud crash came from upstairs. We looked at each other, and Seto teleported to see what was happening. When he came back down, he quickly told me that we were being invaded.
I gathered potions together and Seto did the same. As I ran out of the room, I turned around to see if I had forgotten anything. In the corner of my eye, there was an auburn potion. The potion that enhances my powers. I grabbed it and drank it as I ran out of the room.
At the entrance to the fortress, a purple shield was fending off the small group of sorcerers, about five of them. Seto was behind it, struggling to maintain the shield. I ran over to him and threw a Strength Potion at our feet. His face instantly became more confident and the shield became brighter.
The sorcerers were using their powers to try and get the base destroyed. I summoned a fireball from the ground and shot it towards the closest sorcerer to me, yet missing her so she would just become distracted.
She whipped her head around to face me, her concentration broken. Her eyes seemed to glaze over and a rumbling came from beneath my feet. A pillar of earth rose up and threw me away. I quickly down a health potion and run back to her.
I concentrated my power into a long, thin whip of burning hot ash. Grasping it, not able to burn me, I lashed it out towards the Earth Sorcerer. The whip wrapped around her neck and burn through it; her lifeless corpse tumbled to the ground.
There were only three more left as Seto had gotten rid of one. One of them looked at me and the air got hotter, the moisture draining out of it. Ice daggers flew towards me, one stabbing me in the leg. I draw a circle in the air around me with my hands, making a bubble shield around me.
I slide the ice out of my leg, a burning pain searing through my body. In my backpack is a pack of bandages and I wrap one around my leg. I test its strength a bit, and it was still quite weak.
The bubble that I had created fell around me. The sorcerer came at me, ice sword in hand. I summon a flaming sword, one that lights my enemies on fire when I stab them. I thrust my sword at him, then parry to block his stab at me. Aiming at his heart, I thrust it forward. It enters his flesh and the life drains out of his eyes.
My sword dissipates and I look around for Seto. He was nearby the entrance to the fortress, overpowered by the two Ender Sorcerers left. I pull out a bow and summon an arrow into its drawstring. I aim at the closest one to Seto and let the arrow fly. It pierces her skull and her body falls onto Seto. He wrestles the body off him and stands up. The other sorcerer must have cast a spell on me to restrict my movement.
Seto was already weakened and the other sorcerer stabbed him again, all the while losing his concentration on me. I go up to him and just punch him across the head with the few seconds of strength I had left. He collapses as well.
I bend down to Seto and make him drink one of the new Regeneration Potions as I call them. A bit more life comes into his eyes and the edges of his wounds heal up a bit. I heft him up onto my shoulders to take him inside. A table is close by and I slowly lower him into that.
I grab some of the bandages out of my bag. I wrap one around his shoulder and another one on his leg. Seto was still out of it. I took him into his bedroom to lie down until he feels better. I give him a healing potion to speed up the process. Checking him again, I confirmed that he was still unconscious. I kissed him on the lips; probably the only time I'll ever be able to.
