*****Emma's POV*****
When I woke up I felt a rush of excitement go though me. Today is moms b-day! And we are finally able to give her the present we got her. She doesn't know we got her anything because 1)she knows that we can't afford it and 2)then I was in town with Casey we told her we bought a bag of cookies, so she won't suspect anything.

"Psss Casey wake up! we have to give mom her present! I had to whisper very quietly because I didn't know where mom was.

Casey snapped opened his eye and put a big smile on his face. "Can I give her he present!" he asked.

"Of course you can!"

At those words we ran out of the bedroom and straight down stair with the present, ready to surprise mom!

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM!" Casey screams running done the stairs holding out the present with a giant smile on his face. "WE GOT YOU A PRESENT!"

While Casey was running down the stair screaming I thought I heard a sound down stairs, like a pan falling and then I heard a struggling sound, but I didn't think anything of it because I wasn't sure.

"MO-" Casey stopped dead in his tracks after he jumped from the second steep to the kitchen floor.

MMOOMM!"i watched as Casey's face went from joy and happiness to fear and sadness in a matter of seconds.

"Casey what's wrong I say running to his side to see what he was looking at. after seeing what he was looking at my who body went numb.

A man was standing over my moms body, with a bloody knife in his hand. pans were scattered all over the room, the table chairs were tipped over, the food that my mom was preparing had fallen of the pan and onto the floor, and worst of all, mom was laying on the floor numb, with blood all over her dress and apron, a look of terror in her eyes and a single tear falling down her pale cheek just looking at her I could tell that she wasn't with us any more. and the thought of that made me fall to my knees.

I could tell Casey knew to because he broke out in tears and fell onto my lap. the man that had just killed my mom then looked over to mine and Casey's direction.

"Hay kiddos, why don't you sit down in those chairs and not talk!" the man had I calm face, like he didn't care that he judged killed two kids mom, but I didn't want to have the same fate as my mom, even though that is very selfish.

I started walking to the chairs and put two of them up straight and sat down in one of them, then looked at Casey who wouldn't move. we looked like he was about to be eaten by a Titan.

"Hay! boy! sit down on the fucking chair like I said!" the man looked really pissed of at Casey, which sent a chill up my spin.

"Why....... mommy!?" Casey stared at the man with anger and sadness. "What so you want to do to me?!"

The man looked at him in anger "SIT DOWN OR I WILL KILL YOU RIGHT KNOW!" And at that sentence Casey slowly walked to the chair with tear running down his and his head hanging low.

"But why....mommy." I hear Casey say in a squeaky voice, and I know the man was getting aggravated because Casey wouldn't be quiet.

"If. I. Hear. One. More. Word. From. You. I WILL FUCKING KILL YOU, LIKE I DID YOUR MOTHER." he paused to let in a breath and started talking calmly at us. "now, you guys are going to do whatever I or I won't hesitate to kill you. so be quiet and listen. your mom was supposed to be sold to a special market to make me money! but sense she wouldn't corporate I had to kill. and sense I killed her, I will have to sell you-" he pointed at me when he said that, I know what he meant by special market to because one of my old friends mother was sold into the 'special market' and when they found her, she was near death.

"And you might sell for more, because your so young! So I guess you could say it was better to kill the old hag!"
I know that at after that Casey had snapped.

"DON'T CALL HER THAT, SHE WASN'T EVEN THE OLD YOU....YOU....TURD! Casey had snapped and I could tell that the man was about to snap too, and once again, I feared for his life.

"That's it boy! your DEAD!
