A/N I call this one Stranded. I hope you like it :)
It was getting late. The wide ocean was tinged with warm colours as the sun slowly made it's decent from the sky above. We were sent adrift in the middle of the vast body of water. The wind was picking up and the clouds began rolling in fast as if to cover us in a blanket of darkness, the water became colder as the sun set. It became clear we didn't have much time. I feared this would be the last time we would see each other, or anyone else for that matter. With nothing but just ourselves out in the middle of the ocean. Nothing to protect us from what lies beneath our feet. Maybe we could swim back to shore; no that would be too far. What will happen to us?
Mexico, July 21st 2008.
It was a really hot day. Dead calm not a cloud in the sky, only having trees to shade us from the rays of the scorching sun. Sweat beading down our faces, the heat was just bearable. We decided to take the new boat for a spin, then take a swim somewhere in the deep water. We glided smoothly across the glass like water, giving a distorted reflection of our grinning faces. We were laughing in the golden sun with the wind dancing through our hair. We found the perfect spot to swim.
One by one we jumped in. I, too was caught in the moment, leaving all thoughts of sensibility behind, just focused on the fun and jumped in. It wasn't until we were all tired, to decide to go back to the boat. We got there only to find that the ladder hadn't been pulled down, it became clear we were trapped. The teardrops fell from my eye, setting the sea in motion, letting out small ripples, as if sending a message. That's just what we needed, a message, to give us hope. Hope to get up. Hope to get home.
We had been swimming for hours by now, we were tired and unsure of how long we could go on. It was dark, the water glistened in the faint light of the moon above. I began to ponder what might awaken beneath our numb toes, what might sense us being there, i was frightened. Were we going to starve? Die of dehydration? Only time could tell.... that's what i was afraid of.
