I wake up to the sound of screaming and squeeze my eyes shut trying to disappear. I wish it would stop, that she would stop. Much to my disappointment the yelling goes on for at least another half an hour not stopping until after my father storms out of the house. I get up and look out my window greeted by the all too familiar sight of tail lights leaving the driveway. After he leaves my eyes drift off to the sky. It's a dark violet lit up by the thousands of stars twinkling like fireflies.
I reluctantly turn away from my window and flop back down on my bed. I feel around for my phone and finally find it hidden under a mass of sheets. I quickly pluck off the Black Veil Brides case it is currently hiding in and slip a danisnotonfire and AmazingPhil one on. I smile stroking the precious case with the best two people in the world on it. I suddenly feel my phone vibrate and groan in frustration. My father was calling me, and he only does that when he gets into trouble.
"Sarah? Are you there?" he asks hiccuping from his drunken state.
"No, a ghost answered my phone," i say sarcastically.
"Don't use that tone with me missy! I am your superior and don't you dare forget that!" i hear him snap through the phone. I clench my fists at my sides and grind my teeth to stop myself from properly cursing him out.
"Whatever. Now why did you call me because it was obviously not to catch up on how my life has been going."
"You little brat! What makes you think you can talk to me like that! I am your father and demand to be treated with respect!" he screams through the phone and I hear someone cough in the background.
"Either get them to bail you out or go back to your cell," I hear a familiar voice order him.
"So, you're in jail again, right? What is this dad, your fifth time in half a month? You have probably set a new world record of times thrown in jail in a week! Oh, and tell Officer Sam I said hi!" I say smiling ear to ear. What I am about to do will probably get me killed, but I couldn't care less.
"Why don't you tell him when you come pick me up?" he asks with genuine curiosity.
"because I'm not bailing you out," and with that i hung up the phone.
