this is a thing i may do where i write letters to americans about things they need to fix! and there sure are a lot.
letter one
Dear American,
today, im gonna take about stereotypes. it's sad that our country stereotypes all people in our country.
White girls are portrayed as being obsessed with Starbucks or wearing uggs. being spoiled and rude and snobby. Black girls are portrayed as having weaves and extensions and talking ratchet. Muslims were accused as being terrorists after 9/11[rip to the victims]. There are so many more and if you have any to add, comment and ill add them!
well newflash! there are people NOT like the stereotype. For one thing, I'm black and I'm proud, and I DONT have a weave. my hair is natural. nor do I "talk" ratchet, i "talk" like any other regular person. Not all white girls love Starbucks America. Nor are they dumb or talk in a valley girl way. Not all white girls are obsessed with uggs. Not all Muslims are terrorists and it's horrible that our country would just assume that.
Just because you have dealt with a group of a certain race and they acted a certain way, doesn't made ALL people of that race are like that. why don't you try to get to know people first before judging them because of their looks or their skin color?
that's all for today!
*drops mic*with love,
chelsea marieso let me know if you guys think im should do more of these. i actually like doing these honestly since they're my personal thoughts! give me topics on what you want me to write for sure. and leave your opinions and comments. tell your stories about anything that's happen to you where you've been stereotyped!
