Rae's pov
After Dane apologized we went back to the meeting room and Dane started to introduce me to some people
"Rae, this is Nate my best friend, Nate this is Rae my mate" Dane says and Nate smiles at me "Nate is Aloura's mate" He explains
"You're Aloura's mate!" I exclaim and he nods "Cool" I say and he laughs at me
"Speaking of Aloura, do you know where she is?" Nate asks
"No I haven't seen her since we were in her room earlier" I answer honestly
"Crap! I better go and find her!" he says walking off
"Do you need some help!" I shout after him
"Yes please" he shouts back and I nod
"Dane, I'm going to help Nate find Aloura okay?" I say
"Do you want me to come with you?" he asks and I shake my head
"You stay here, I'll be okay" I say kissing him on the cheek then running off to find Aloura. I walk to her room and she's not there so I carry on searching around the pack house but I don't see her there either. I decide to go and look outside; when I get there I walk into the woods and look around
"Why was she talking to you loser!" I hear a quiet voice spit
"S-she wanted t-to be my friend!" another voice cried... wait! That's Aloura's voice! I run in the direction of her cry and see two girls pinning her to a tree
"Well she must have been joking, who would want to be friends with you" one of the girls say, then hit Aloura in the stomach
"P-please stop" Aloura begs and I can see the tears running down her face. I growl and all three heads snap towards me
"Get off of her now!" I snap
"Who the hell are you?!" The blonde girl shouts
"Rae, Dane's mate. Now I suggest you let go of Aloura before I do something I might regret" I say threateningly
"You're the future Alpha female?" the other girl asks and I nod
"I'm going to tell you one more time, get off of her!" I growl out and both girls let go of Aloura and she falls to the floor "Now get out of here, and if I see you near Aloura again I will personally get someone to punish you" I say and both girls look at me with wide eyes "GO!" I shout and they run off. I walk over to Aloura and help her sit up "I am so sorry!" I cry
"What? Why?" she asks confused
"If I stayed with you then they wouldn't have hurt you" I say and she shakes her head
"That happens all of the time" she says touching her stomach and wincing, I stare at her in disbelief
"Really?" I question and she nods "Not anymore it won't! If they come near you I will hurt them" I say and Aloura laughs
"They were really scared of you!" she says and I laugh
"I don't know why, I'm not even scary" I say
"To be honest you scared me too" she admits and my mouth drops open
"You were pretty scary" a new voice says and Nate walks out from behind the trees "Are you okay?" he asks Aloura and she nods
"Rae saved me before they could do much" she says smiling at me
"Thank you Rae" Nate says
"Don't worry about it, I would always protect my friends" I tell them "Who were those girls anyway?" I ask
"Chloe and Jayne Norwood" Nate says
"There twin sisters that think they own everything and everyone, they've been bullying me since pre-school" Aloura admits
"Does Dane know about this?" I ask
"No, I begged Nate not to tell anyone. I'm really scared of them Rae" she says and I can see the tears in her eyes again
"Don't worry Aloura I won't let them hurt you again" I say and she nods
"But I do need to tell Dane, he's going to think I'm crazy if I just start glaring at random girls he doesn't think I've even met" I explain and Nate nods in agreement
"Okay, but don't tell anyone else, okay?" she says
"Okay" I agree
"Come on, let's get back before Dane gets worried about you again and sends a search party out looking for you" Nate says
"He would seriously send a search party looking for me?" I ask
"Yep" Nate says
"Wow" is all I reply and Aloura laughs at my response
"He's very protective" Aloura says
"Oh god" I say and we walk back to the pack house. Dane is stood at the front door looking around; when he sees us he runs over and pulls me into a hug
"I was worried about you" he says
"I wasn't gone long and I told you I was going to find Aloura" I say and Nate laughs
"I was still worried" he mumbles looking at the floor
"Dane I need to talk to you about something" I say looking at Nate and Aloura, they nod and walk back into the pack house "Come on" I say dragging him into the house and up to our room.
"What are we doing in here?" he asks
"I need to talk to you about Aloura" I say seriously and he looks at me with a confused expression
"Why? What's wrong with Aloura?" he asks
"I found her getting beat up by two of your pack members" I say and his shocked expression suddenly turns to anger
"Who?!" he growls
"Chloe and Jayne Norwood" I say and Dane sighs
"I knew something was going on" he says and now it's my turn to give him a confused expression "Me and Aloura are pretty close, I class her like a sister but a lately she's been really distant. I've noticed that every time Chloe or Jayne come into a room Aloura walks out looking scared" he explains
"Well she did say that it's been going on for a while now" I tell him
"We need to help her" he says and I nod in agreement "But how?" he asks
"By scaring her bullies" I say grinning at the plan in my head, this should be fun...
