The next morning was church, so I got dressed in a navy ruffle shirt with a blue and white cardigan and my regular skinny jeans and pit on my ankle boots. I tied a ballerina bun into my hair and put on a bit of eyeliner.
I stared at my reflection. I looked kinda pretty all dressed up. I smiled my greatest smile and did some singing warm ups to get ready to sing for the kids church.
I walked into the kitchen and my mom had donuts laid out. I grabbed a plain glaze one and took a bite.
"I see you got dressed up nice for church! That down at happen often," my mom smiled as she washed her hand in the sink.
"I'm singing today," I explained.
"Oh really? Have fun, you nervous?" She asked.
"Of course not, I don't get nervous remember?" I said sassily.
"Oh right, fearless Shelby. Except you do get nervous when it comes to Adam," she winked.
I went up and playfully shoved her.
I went to my room and texted my friend Hanna,
Church, u gonna be there?
The reply came quickly
Uh huh. U singing today??
I quickly texted back
Yep cheer me on
You rock it gurl ;) she replied.
I shoved my Android phone into my purse and grabbed my leather bible.
I walked out and my brothers were both standing by the front door, ready to go.
We all got into the car and drove on the 10 minute drive to our church/school.
When we got there the herods got there at the same time so walked in with them. But Adam didn't say a word to me. And he went to the adult service with his parents.
Was he avoiding me? I wondered. I shrugged it off. Whatever, who cares about him. He doesn't matter. But I knew he mattered to me way more than he deserved.
I walked in and Pastor Josh gave me a high five. He told me that we would be singing the fun remix of "This Little Light Of Mine" with the rap I memorized.
So when the service started I went to the front with the Mic in my hand and sang the memorized words and I'd the childish motions. Why was this so easy for me but talking to Adam just wasn't?
After the song ended I went to youth with Katelynn.
We learned about the Rapture and the Antichrist. Some times I get scared that the rapture might happen when I'm still alive. I would just rather die. I mean I know I would go to heaven and everything but I just don't want to disappear out of thin air.
After the lesson I went to find my parents in big service. I didn't see them so I pulled out my phone and called my mom. She didn't pick up. Just then Hanna an My friend Ashtyn approached me.
"Hey," Hanna smiled her usual smile. Something you should know about Hanna is that, unless something seriously is wrong, she is always smiling. An her smule is pretty. So why wouldn't Adam like her? No reason at all.
"Hi," I waved.
"Sorry I didn't see you sing I went straight to youth," Hanna said.
"That's ok. You've seen me sing that song before anyways. Hey Ashtyn," I smile at her. Her Carmel hair was tied into a Ponytail and she was wearing jeans and a ruffle top kinda like mine but green.
"Hey, so how's the new house?" She asked kindly.
"Good," I faked a smile. I liked it but I missed the old place. And the old neighbors.
"And how are the neighbors?" She teased elbowing me playfully.
"Don't even get me started," I sighed.
"No kidding, I'd hate to be in your position. Living next to that nightmare," Hanna tried to act like it would be horrible but she couldn't hide the jealousy in her happy voice. Whatever she feels for Adam hasn't gone away. And trust me, it won't, if anyone knows it's me that, you be be truly get over Adam Cade Herod.
"Yeah right, Hanna, you'd give anything to live there," ashtyn nudged her.
"Whatever," she mumbled, still smiling.
"Well I gotta go find my mom," I wave to them,"Bye!"
"Bye," they said simultaneously.
I finally found her talking to my friend McKenzie Maddox's mom. McKenzie Also likes Adam. Appearing right?
I saw McKenzie approach us.
"Hey Kenzie," I greeted her.
"Hi, how's the new neighbors?" I wondered how many time I would hear that question. This wouldn't be the last.
"What do you think?" I joked.
"I think that almost every girl would give up the would to live next to Adam an I think you should make the best of it," she suggested.
"Well some girl can gladly take my place," I chuckled.
"Ha, yeah, I WILL" she raised her small hand jokingly.
We both laughed as people walking by stared at us for her crazy behavior. We laughed really hard and we weren't sure why.
"Shelby lets go!" My mom said.
"Gotta go I'll text you later, bye!" I walked off and we rode back to the new home.

The next day was school so we got up early and headed to the same building we go to church at.
When we got there we were early so we went into the gym.
I saw Bailey an I ran to her and sat my bag next to her. I slided down against the wall and sat against it right by her.
"Waz up?! How's the new house? You need to tell me everything!" She tied her blonde hair back and turns he attention from her book to me.
"It's good. The herods came over..." I looked away.
"What happened?" She sighed frustratedly.
"We played hide and go seek and I was his partner...." I realize off again.
"Ugh! Just forget about him he's not worth it!" She shoved me playfully.
"I try but it's like impossible. Your lucky to b the only girl who doesn't like him," I admitted.
"No kidding. Ok so I need details!" She ordered.
Just then Mrs. Barnes yelled TIME TO GO. And kids started to groan and pick up their bags to go to class.
"Tell you when we get upstairs!" And we ran up to Mrs. Moore's classroom.
