FP2 (2): Scenario: What if Jamie was granted parole?

A/N: Trigger Warning: violence.

McKayla walks out of the dance studio after her shift ended. She had her phone to her ear and was on the phone with Chirs.

"Yeah, I just walked out, I'm heading home now." McKayla says. She glances across the street, then does a double take when she sees a familiar face.

"Okay, I'll meet you at your place and we'll - "

"No no no wait wait wait Chris stay on the phone with me."

"You okay?"

"I think I just saw Jamie."

"What?"

"He must have been granted parole."

"Hey, hey, it's okay. Maybe he isn't who he used to be. Maybe prison changed him. He was obviously granted parole for a reason."

"Maybe...But I don't wanna take my chances."

McKayla paced the livingroom as Chirs and Sophie asked her questions about when she saw Jamie.

"Where did you see him?" Sophie asks.

"At the café across the street, a couple buildings over from Electric City. He looked like he was busing tables."

"He's already got a job?" Chris asks.

"Looks like it."

"Well hey, let's not jump to conclusions. Like I said before, maybe he's changed."

McKayla sighs, "Maybe."

"Don't make yourself crazy over this." Sophie advices, "Everything will be fine."

McKayla takes a breath, "Okay...Okay, you're right. I'm being paranoind. I'm sure there's nothing to worry about."

The next day.

McKayla walked out of the dance studio going through a mental list of the rest of the things she had to do for hte rest of the day. However, her thoughts are interrupted by the sound of an all too familiar voice.

"Hello, McKayla."

McKayla immediately whirls around and her stomach falls.

"J-Jamie." She says, "Hi."

Jamie grins, "How are you?"

"I-I'm fine...You?"

"Great. More than great. I'm...perfect." He says, "It's going to be so wonderful working so close to you."

Jamie's smile grows, then he walks off.

McKayla was at Chris' house, telling him about what happend.

"Did he threaten you?"

"I don't know. I don't think so...I'm just scared."

"Well just stay here tonight. You know you'll be safe with me."

McKayla nods, "Yeah, okay."

"It probably isn't what it seems, baby. I mean why would he jeopardize his freedom over a grudge he has with you?"

"Because he's crazy, Chris; he's insane. Back in high school, he'd have done anything to see me miserable and it wasn't even his brother that was killed in the school shooting! Jamie didn't do any of what he did just because he was angry with me or anyone else; he did it because he enjoyed it."
