How The Story Ends

So this is an update on how I intended for this story to end, but before that I'd like to do further explanation on why I stopped writing and probably won't write anymore fan fictions.
Starting around June/July of last year I started going to more and more concerts, I got to meet people I envied and looked up to. I put these people on a pedestal, and when I met them I realized they were just normal people who followed their dreams.
I got to talk to them and make terrible jokes about stupid things. They were so down to earth and around them I felt like I was just talking to friends. One of the bands who really brought this to my attention was Ghost Town, I saw them for the second time November 2nd and got to just hang out with someone, who a lot of Ghosts know because of how active she is with the band. When I'm at a Ghost Town show and see them after, they're some of the nicest people and make you feel comfortable around them. I'm nervous when meeting new people, and before you even said anything to the guys they automatically hug you. They start the conversation with a casual "Hi, how are you?", "Did you enjoy the show?", "I like your shirt", "I saw your drawing on Instagram it was so sick!" (I sometimes draw original/copies of their album and song art and send it to them). They're normal people, and for me now it's not comfortable to think of a character with these people in a relationship that I created. I hope that makes since, and doesn't offend anyone who still currently reads fan fiction.
I haven't been on wattpad catching up and reading anything, I used to check for updates every night before I went to bed and now I just completely ignore notifications unless they're comments on my story.

Now onto how I planned the rest of Someone Somewhere.

The next chapter would have taken place three years after the night James disappeared. Athena would have been in a relationship with Cameron of OCTW, they would be living in a house in LA and Athena would be in a depressive state. She missed James, and has nearly forgotten about Dylen. Cameron would be everything Dylen was, which held her back from forgetting, and then causing her to feel as though she needed to stay. Asking Alexandria would have Denis as their front man, as they do now, and Danny would be this rock cowboy singer dude for his band We Are Harlot. James would be their drummer, but he's not the same. He's a drunk, depressed as well, and he's self destructive. No one in the band wants to bring her up around James, because that sends him in a rampage for whatever reason. Denis and Athena are good friends same as the rest of the band, but James avoids thinking about her, which causes him to drink, and that's all the time.
Whenever she goes to a show, the band has to sneak around to avoid James from seeing her, but one night it doesn't work. She runs into him once again while coming out of the greenroom and they fall. Cameron finds them on the floor like he did those many of years ago and assumes the worst. He's torn, because Cameron was going to propose that very night, but deep down he knew Athena has always loved, and will always love James. Athena sees Cam standing there, and tries to explain, but he just nods and hugs her. She knows what this is, it was always Cam's was of saying goodbye. He's always held her that way, and she hasn't been hugged that way in over three years. He assures her everything is okay and he'll always be there, because he notices that spark is once again in her beautiful blue eyes. The spark that only James can cause.
Five years has passed and Athena has become aware of her inability to have children. Her and - her now husband - James have adopted a boy in his mid-teens named Eric. (If you follow Greek mythology you may see what I did there ). James and Athena plan to renew their vows in late December but before that happens, there is a phone call
Athena has been in a car accident, and James has been advised to come to the hospital as soon possible due to her injuries. When James and Eric got there, the receptionist has the doctor escort them to Athena's room.

When they walked in, they weren't expecting her to be in this bad of a condition. She was broken, nearly unrecognizable. IV's running through her arm and a very weak breathing machine, and heart monitor in the background. They held back tears walking to the side of Athena's bed carefully grasping her fragile hand. After a minute or so her heart monitor started slowly fading. Then it went silent.
The funeral was a small gathering of close friends and few family members of hers. Cameron couldn't bring himself to go, and James understood. He had sent James the ring he had planned on giving Athena, and asked to put it in her coffin with her. When it was time for James to go say goodbye he put her wedding ring on her slim finger. The one Cameron had sent was on a thin silver chain, and would remain around her neck.

James and Eric stayed there for a whike, not being able to believe that the most important person in their lives is gone.

After Athena's death James was more invested in music than ever. He was never distant from friends. If anything he was closer. The band was there for him and Eric when they needed help coping, music was Eric's outlet and he would even help the band with writing.

So... Yeah. I always planned on writing a story with a sad ending, because the happy ones are always predictable and the same. As well as Athena passing the same was Dylen did. I hope you enjoy this, you can always message me if any of you need to, no matter the occasion.

You guys know where to find me, fair winds
