Everything's An Illusion

~Athena's POV~

I couldn't help but freak out on the inside. Who the hell gets invited to come into a venue before a meet & greet? Who gets complemented by one of their favorite bands after they sing? Not to mention he pulled me aside and was standing in front of me talking about god knows what. I was too busy thinking about what the hell just happened.

"It's cool don't ya think?"

"Huh? Oh yeah, It's awesome"

"You weren't paying attention were you love?"

"No, not really, I'm sorry. I was just thinking about everything that's happening right now"

"I know, you were kind of thinking out loud. You really like our band that much?"

"Of course you guys were one of the first bands I listened to! You guys started my love for Rock and ever since then I couldn't stop listening to you guys."

I wasn't lying, Asking Alexandria was one of the first bands I listened to, and they did start my love for the genre, but this whole situation was unreal.

"Well I'm glad"

"Yeah.."

At that point I had no clue what else to say, I honestly hate how awkward I am. From the corner of my eye I could see Sara talking to Ben, she seemed like she was having an amazing time. After a few minutes of standing there with James, I  heard someone call my name.

"Athena? Is that you?"

I turned around to see none other than Cameron Burns and Ervin Buljubasic. I couldn't have ran over faster and engulfed them in hugs.

"Oh my god, I haven't seen you guys in forever! What the hell are you doing here, I thought you guys lived in Minnesota?"

"Jesus Athena don't kill us, we have a show to do in 3 hours"

I looked at Ervin questionably while Cameron just laughed and hugged me again until he pulled away, and I sighed. I've known Out Came The Wolves before they were even in a band, I used to live in Minnesota and they were the first guys to actually talk to me. They were my best friends and it hurt to leave them when I moved in with Sara.

"Wow still slow as I can remember" I punched Ervin's arm playfully as he acted hurt

"Shut up!"

"So if you guys are performing tonight where are Alec, Drew, and Austin? I need my hugs"

"Their backstage bu-" Before he could finish I ran backstage while getting looks from everyone, but I didn't care I needed to see my best friends.

"AUSTIN, ALEC, DREW!!! WHERE THE HELL ARE YOU GUYS?!"

"Dude, I swear I just heard Athena"

"Maybe 'cause it was Athena dumb asses" I laughed and watched then turn around and smile.

"Hey, guys"

Seconds later I was almost knocked to the ground as they ran over and hugged me. I missed these guys and their hugs so much, it was nice to see them again but I was starting to feel suffocated.

"I.. Can't.. Breathe.."

When they let go I properly hugged each of them and then messed up all their hair, which caused whines and groans from the guys.

"Still obsessed with your hair I see?"

"Hair like this takes hard work and dedication, Athena! You can't just go around touching it." I swear Alec loves his hair more than anything in the world, but it was funny.

"Yeah, whatever. How have you guys been? I haven't seen you in a few years"

"We've been great actually, the band is getting bigger, along with a ton more fans. How are you, where's Dylen aren't you guys still together?" I knew Austin would mention Dylen, they were instantly friends when they came to visit me 3 years ago.

That's when I broke down, crying and collapsed onto the ground. Alec, Austin, and Drew knelt down beside me

"Did he hurt you? I swear to god if he did I'm going to break every bone in his body!"

"N-No.. Austin, Dylen p-past away two years ago. He got into a car accident wh-while he was on his way home.. " Alec picked me up and carried me to a nearby couch as I continued to cry into his shoulder. I didn't want to think about Dylen tonight, as much as I loved him it still hurt.

"Hey.. It's okay, you don't need to cry. We won't talk about this anymore, alright?" I looked up at Drew as he wiped away a few falling tears and faintly smiled. These guys always knew how to make things better, no matter how bad it got they always knew what to say.

Cameron and Ervin came into the room then and looked at me wondering why I was upset.

"What the hell did you guys do? She hasn't even been here for a fucking hour and she's already crying?!" Cameron always hated seeing me cry and was always there ready to hurt whoever caused it.

Drew helped me up and I walked over to Ervin and hugged him and he hugged me for a few minutes while I saw Austin pull Cameron to the side and talk to him. After I let go of Ervin, he came over and hugged me while they explained everything to Ervin.

"Athena I'm so sorry, I knew how much he meant to you." I smiled and hugged Cameron tighter.

"It's okay, Austin didn't know... I'm fine" I let go and smiled at him then he hugged me again.
