Simple Light

I dream of a simple light,

Sweet mornings and early steam

A quick cup of bitter richness, shared,

A swift kiss and a lingering look.

I dream of rumpled sheets,

Of conversation more concrete in skin,

Smoothed daily in ritual motion

An expectation of return.

 I dream of horizons,

of sunsets and coupled hands,

and I dream a pair of dreamers,

When I dream of him.

I dream of a familiar song,

A muted jingle and a creaky swing,

I dream of shared solitude, earned independence.

I dream on a singular whim.

So, trying my hand at some poetry.  **gulp**

Some of it is old, some of it new.   I have no idea if it is decent or not, so feel free to run away as quickly as you can.  For all I know, its burning your eyes out right now.

But, if you like it...let me know. I'll be less scared of posting it in the future.
