"She's been in the medical room with the kid ever since we found him," Recon tells his general, both of them outside the room ,"and she only leaves to eat or go to the bathroom. Other than that. This is where she's been." Recon says while Lance leans against the wall. "Will he be fine?" The general asks, wanting to know the condition of the child.
"He'll wake up in a while. I suggest that Jelia should be the first person he talks to. You know, so he won't freak out as much." Recon says, walking away. Lance looks through the window, being one way, and looks at Jelia, who is sitting on a chair next to the rescues child. The child has bright neon blue hair, same skin tone as Jelia, his shirt being brown and sleeveless, and black baggy shorts.
Lance sighs. Again he feels useless. He wants to help, do something, anything to help. But he can't. Either way, he walks to the door and hesitates on opening the door. After a few seconds, he opens the door to the room and walks inside, sitting on a chair on the opposite side of the bed with Jelia being on the other side.
"How's he doing?" Lance asks, breaking the silence around them. "He's getting better." Jelia answers the question. The simple answer makes silence fill the room soon after. Lance doesn't have a clue on what to do in the situation he is in. They never trained him in things like this. 'However...she would've known...' He thinks, leaning back on the chair on the recliner.
"Sit by me." Jelia says, smiling as kindly as she can. Hesitating at first, the general stands up, walks to the chair next to her, and sits on it. Once Lance is seated, Jelia rest her head on his shoulder. Lance, in response, stiffens up."Thank you." Jelia softly says, still looking at the child. "What for? I didn't even capture the captain of the ship." He replies, looking slightly down, feeling bad because he didn't even kept his word.
"So? You rescued him. That's even better than getting revenge. Because now I know that I'm not the last of my kind. It means that maybe, just maybe, there could be other survives." She says slightly louder than before, smiling on the thought that others of her race can still be alive. Lance smiles happily, knowing that he made a difference and helped the survivor. "Will the republic take him away?" Jelia says, looking at the yellow eyes of the general, her tone sad and heartbreaking. "N-no, not at all. I won't allow it." Lance assures, placing his right hand in her shoulder. Jelia smiles, her eyes having a small tear forming of happiness."Mama...?" The two hear. Jelia immediately turns to the boy who is sitting upright, wincing back a bit. Jelia giggles. "Yes, it is Mama!" She says happily, for she doesn't wants to break the news about what happened to his family. "Mama!" The neon blue hair kid says with joy, flinging himself towards Jelia with open arms, hugging Jelia tightly. Jelia laughs joyfully as she hugs the child back. Lance smiles as e stands up and walks out the room, leaving the two alone.
"What's your name?" Jelia says, placing the boy on her lap. "Name?" He asks, not fully understanding the word. "Ok, I'll give you an example. My name is Jelia Vale. What's your name?" She says, hopefully with the example he will understand the meaning of name. "I am Ethan Sino Vale." He smiles, introducing himself to his mother and placing his mother's last name at the end of his. Jelia smiles, she now has a name to call her son. "It's a very nice name." She completes, causing Ethan to smile. "So, what's your favorite color?" She asks, wanting to know more about Ethan. "Blue!" He joyfully answers, throwing his hand in the airs. Jelia giggles at the sight. "And what's your favorite food?" She asks another question. Ethan lowers his hands and thinks about it. After several seconds of thinking, he answers. "Desserts!" He laughs happily. Jelia nods and smiles, she know knows the basic things about Ethan. "That's good. Now I know more about you." Jelia tells her son, who is looking at her. "Mama, where am I?" He asks, curiously looking around the medical room he has been in for the past few days. "This is the doctor's room. He took very good care of you." She answers. The child nods and begins to slowly drift to sleep.
