Chapter 16: Good & Bad News

Niall’s POV

“Niall! Niall! Niall!” Liam yelled looking like a maniac. I looked towards Liam and he pointed towards the stairs where a lot of people were going. I struggled to get through where all the people were crowding and I saw the most heart-breaking thing I have ever seen in my life. I saw Paige laying there lifeless and blood all over the place. I ran to her and grabbed her in my arms. “Call an ambulance! Please someone call an ambulance! Now! Baby, please don’t leave me! Wake up. Wake up baby! I need you. Don’t leave me!” I yelled shaking her. There was blood everywhere and that’s when I saw blood dripping down her legs. I cried out even harder. A girl came behind me out of nowhere. “Niall, she’s not even worth your tears. Get over it. Let’s get some drinks and have some fun.” The girl said. I looked at her with anger. “Are you fucking kidding me? How dare you say that! You are so pathetic and desperate! I would never go for someone like you. You are such a slut! It was you who pushed Paige down the stairs! Security arrest her!” I yelled at the top of my lungs. “Let go of me! You are making a mistake Niall. You have no taste.” The girl said. The security took her away and the ambulance came and took Paige with them. I followed with my car and I ran to the emergency room. I couldn’t go in and see her cause she was in surgery. I crying and I didn’t know how to stop crying. Tears just kept falling down my face and I couldn’t help myself. Everything I love and everything I needed.

“Please don’t leave me baby. Please stay strong for our family. I love you so much Paige. I don’t know what I would do without you in my life. You are my life. You are my everything. I don’t want to live if I don’t get to live with having you as my forever and always. I need you to come back to me and love me. I need you here with me so I know that everything will be okay. I love you so much Paige. I love you to the moon and back. Please never let go. Promise me you will never let go of us. I need you right now. I miss your voice. Please be okay.” I said to myself crying. A few hours later Ma and Alex arrived. They both hugged me and they started to cry as well. It broke my heart to see Paige’s parents crying seeing their baby girl lying there. My mum and Greg came as well to check up on Paige. They did their best to comfort me but I still couldn’t stop crying. El, Dani, Claire, Louis, Liam, Harry, Perrie, and Zayn were also here with me. I couldn’t stop crying. I just can’t stand it that I did this. My fame did this.  My job did this.

I looked at the boys and I asked them to follow me so we could talk about something important that has been on my mind. “Lads, I want out.” I said. “What do you mean you want out?” Zayn asked. “I want to be out of the band.” I said. “You can’t just leave us Niall.” Liam said. “You don’t understand lads. A crazy fan just put my family in danger!” I yelled. “We get it Niall but it’s what you love to do. It’s your dream.” Harry said. “It’s not anymore. I am not risking the most valuable people in my life. I know you would all do the same if you were in my position. It’s been a good couple of years but I’m done with this craziness.” I said calmly. “I get you. I would do the same if I was in your position but it won’t be only you who is quitting. I quit too.” Louis said. Everyone agreed and in that moment there was no more One Direction. There were five boys who treat each other like brothers and will always be there no matter what life throws at us. It made me feel better that the boys had my back and that they support my decision. The four boys went to tell management about our decision and at first they didn’t accept it but after realizing what happened they agreed to it. They released a statement to the public.

“After the tragic event that happened earlier we are sad to say that Niall Horan quit One Direction.” Simon said. “If you all are upset it was the crazy fan’s fault. She did all of this.” Liam said coldly. “We are so upset and angry with that girl and everyone who hates on Paige or any of our girlfriends.” Louis said. “It’s not just Niall who is out of One Direction.” Zayn said. “It’s all of us. There is no more One Direction. We are done with the fame and everything that puts our loved ones in harm. Goodbye everyone.” Harry said.

I cried my hardest thinking that I have nothing left. Paige isn’t with me to comfort me on this one. I was alone. I felt so alone. I didn’t know how to deal with everything. I sat there just staring at everything that passes by. How did my life turn upside down? My thoughts were interfered when the doctor came out of the room and went to talk to Paige’s parents and me. “I have some good news and some bad news.” The doctor said. “Good news is that Paige will be fine and she will recover. We are expecting that she would wake soon and be able to talk.” He said. “What’s the bad news?” Ma asked. “Paige made it, but sadly the baby didn’t make it.” He said slowly. I ran out of the building and started crying.

We lost our baby. Our baby is gone. I didn’t even get to meet her! I didn’t even get to see her! I killed my own baby. My fame killed my baby. I hate my life. The one thing that I would treasure more than Paige was gone. Paige was alive but what will she do if she finds out that the baby is gone? She will hate me. I don’t know what I’m going to do. I’m scared to face her. Suddenly my phone rang.

“Hey ma. Any news?” I asked. “Niall sweetie, she woke up.” Ma said. “I’ll be there Ma.” I said. I hung up and ran inside the hospital and into her room. There I saw my princess smiling at me. “I missed you.” She said. “I’m so glad to be able to hear your voice again. I missed you too Paige.” I said. “Did they catch the girl who did this?” She asked. “Yeah they did. She’s gone now babe. No one will hurt you.” I said. “Niall I know you think that all of this is your fault but I want you to know that it is not. Don’t blame yourself for what happened.” She said. “It is my fault Paige but no worries. Nothing will happen again. There is no more One Direction.” I said. “What? No, that can’t happen. Please don’t give up your dream for my safety. I will be fine. She said. “Babe, the lads agreed that it’s not safe for our loved ones anymore. We had a good couple of years but it is time to leave that all behind. I would rather have you than the fame.” I said kissed her cheek.

Alex and Ma went home after seeing how much better Paige was feeling. No one has told her about the baby and I don’t think she remembers it. She hasn’t asked about the baby and we asked the doctor. He said she might have just forgotten about the baby. I knew that I had to tell her even though she forgot. The lads and the girls came in the room.

“Baby I have missed you so much.” Claire said hugging Paige. “How are you feeling?” El asked. “I’m doing a lot better thanks for checking up on me.” She said. “I’m glad to hear. If you need anything we will be here okay?” Dani said. “I’m glad you are okay.” Perrie added. The girls went outside to leave the boys inside the room to talk to Paige. “Hey baby girl.” Liam said. “Hi daddy Li.” She said and smiled. “I missed you so much twin.” Harry said kissed her forehead. “I missed you too twin.” She said smiling at Harry. “I’m glad you are okay Paige.” Zayn added. “Thanks Zayn.” She said. “Right when you get home we will play pranks on the boys.” Louis said. She giggled and nodded her head. “I will miss One Direction but as far as I can tell we will always stay like a family and we will be here for each other no matter what happens.” She said.

The boys left us and gave us time to talk. I was going to tell her about the baby.
