This takes place during the season finale of season 16 when Nick gets shot, and how I think it should have went down.

"I'm taking the Sargent exam" Nick said

"What about California?" Amanda asked

Nick had been thinking about moving to California for some time, Amanda was upset the first time she heard it and thought that the relationship they had whatever it was they could take the next step and become a couple.

"I haven't really thought of that, you know you should take it too"

Amanda laughed "I like being a detective, besides I don't think liv would want me to be it"

"Come on you don't wanna be a detective the rest of your life"

"Actually I do" she smiled

The Johnny D trial was coming up in a few days, Olivia was a reck, she didn't know what was going to happen and if she was going to have to take Noah to visit him.

Amanda and Nick went home together that night, they made there way up to Amanda's apartment and sat down on the couch, Amanda placed her head on nicks shoulder.

"When are you going to move out to CA?"

"I don't know, I may not even move"

She felt that she was the one holding him back, she wants him to be happy and to be with his kids, and not worry about me.

"Nick, I don't want to be the one holding you back, you should be with your kids they need you"

"I don't want to leave you Amanda, I love being here with you, and being with the job even if I haven't gone anywhere" Amanda placed my head on his chest.

It was the day of the trial, everyone was in the courtroom, then Johnny D took and officers gun and pointed it to the officers head, he ran out into the hallway Nick following.

He shot Johnny D, and Johnny D shot back shooting Nick in the chest and the knee "I gotta it liv I'll take him to the hospital" Amanda said rushing up to her

Amanda was devastated that she saw Nick like this, she grabbed nicks hand in ambulance "stay with me Nick, just stay with me"

Once they got there, they rushed him into surgery, Amanda walked back and forth waiting for what seemed like hours for Nick to come out of the surgery room ok.

She sat down in a chair and tapped her foot, a doctor came out a few hours later "detective? You can see Nick amaro now"

I stood up and rushed to his room, I saw liv and the rest of the squad waiting outside the door, I opened the door and saw Nick asleep, he was all wired up.

I rubbed his foot, waiting for him to wake up, he had two surgeries in one day, we all heard him groan and he finally woke.

"Hey Nick" I smiled

He looked into my eyes, it was a look they gave each other, but this one was different, it was a i care about you look, one that he never gave amanda before. Everyone talked to him cheering him up, but then all made there separate ways out.

Amanda pulled a chair up next to him, and grabbed his hand "I'm so glad your ok"

"Me too" She laughed, Crashing her lips against his.

"Amanda move out to California with me" Nick stated

Amanda stood there shocked, they weren't even in a real relationship, and he wanted to live with her, she stared at him for a while, not knowing what to say "I'll think about it" she stated He sighed, you could tell how tired he was, he slowly fell asleep again.

Amanda got up and made her way home, she laid on her bed and thought about what Nick said, what was she going to do? She loved New York, she loved the people she worked with, her partner, her boss, carisi the one who's like a brother to her. But mostly importantly she loved nick, she never realized it before.

Love was a strong word for her, no one has ever said it to her, she didn't know she would fall in love with someone, until she met Nick amaro and she had to tell him how she felt. She would move out with him, he made her feel so alive and happy.

The next day she rushed to the hospital, only to find that he wasn't in his room, she walked into the waiting room and saw the rest of the squad.

"Where's Nick? What happened?"

"He got rushed into surgery, he has internal bleeding. They don't know if he will make it"

Amanda heart collapsed, she froze and felt numb all around, only if she didn't leave him last night, only if she told him last night how she felt, maybe if she said yes she would be able to see him smile. She prayed that he would make it out of there alive.

"Are you Amanda Rollins?" A voice asked

Amanda turned around and saw one of the nurses she met yesterday, she nodded, she still couldn't speak. The nurse handed her a black square box. "We found it in his pocket, he said if something were to happen to give it to you if he couldn't, and since he may not make it im giving it to you"

Amanda nodded and rubbed her thumb on the black box, it was small, she was upset that it might be a ring.

She opened it up very slowly, to see a ring, a diamond ring, Ingrated in the ring said "I love you"

Amanda dropped to the floor, and started to cry. with the ring in her hand, she couldn't believe he was going to ask her to marry him "I love you too" she whispered

Fin and carisi walked to her and stared at her and the ring, they were shocked, they were all shocked

Amanda sat there, still crying, praying Nick would come out of there alive, she stared at the ring "please Nick don't leave" she whispered.

Olivia walked away and started talking to the doctor "that's great news" liv practically shouted

"Thank you so much doctor"

I stood up, still the ring in my hand, I looked at her confused "Nick made it, he's out of surgery"

A sigh of relief went through my whole body, we got the room and She rushed inside, put the ring on her finger. She opened the door and rushed in and hugged him.

"Nick I'm so glad you made it, I love you so much"

"I love you too"

Amanda showed him the ring "I will marry you"

She leaned him and kissed him passionately, they were so excited. Liv, fin and carisi were still completely confused.

"Oh yah" Amanda laughed "Nick and I have been having a secret relationship" They nodded and clapped

"You scared me to death Nick, I thought I would never be able to see you again, and would never be able to tell you I love you"

"Only I could propose in a special way, it has been on my mind for a while, I know we weren't in a real relationship, but I really was thinking about it and I couldn't live without you"

"I can't either"
