Emil showed me around the town as we made our way to the clothing store.

"That's the place I got my puffin at," he said, pointing to the Exotic Pets sign hanging high.

"That's nice," I gush. "You sure seem to love him."

"Yea, he's my best friend." We passed by many stores and shops, but one caught my eye.

"What's that one?" I gesture to the darker building that stood out among the brightly lit ones.

"That's the Memorial Building of Fallen Heroes. Anyone who ever did anything heroic in this country ends up with their picture on the inside walls."

"That's amazing." I say thoughtfully. We walk a little bit further, and Emil suddenly stops in his tracks. "Here we are."

I gaze up at the colorful store. "Piękna i Bestia Boutique?"

"Yea, an old friend of mine owns the shop, so why not?" He smiles and opens the door.

"Like, welcome to my fabulous shop," a voice greets. A tall, blonde man with green eyes walked out from the back, followed by a less confident brunette. "Emil! I haven't seen you in, like, forever." As Emil apologizes to the man, the other worker comes up behind me and taps my shoulder.

"Yes?"

"Mind if I take your m-measurements?" He asks, gesturing to the tape.

"Of course not!"

He takes all of my measurements and reports them back to his boss. "Uh huh. Like, I have the perfect dress for you, wait here." The two men walk from their spots into the backroom, leaving me with Emil. "Who are they? You seem to be close to them."

"Well, the blonde, special one is Feliks-"

"Like, what are you saying about me, Emil?" Feliks popped his head out, his green eyes flared with curiosity.

Emil's mouth closes and he silently waves back in response. "Toris! Grab that other dress that came in today!" Feliks demanded.

"If it wasn't obvious by now, the brunette is Toris." Emil sighed.

Feliks and Toris walked out of the backroom, each with a dress in hand. The Polish man grasped my hand and pulled me away from Emil. "Here's the dressing room, and here is your first dress," he said as he shoved me into the large but cramped room. I look in the mirror and hold the dress up to my body. The strapless (f/c) gown suited me perfectly; each atom that was used to make this beautiful creation made me want to cry with joy. After undressing myself, I carefully stepped into the dress, not wanting to rip it. As I stepped out into the room, there pairs of eyes all fastened their gaze on me. "H-How does it look?"

"Absolutely fabulous," Feliks gushed. "I told you it was perfect."

"It does look quite nice on you," Toris added. I thank them for their kind compliments and looked to Emil. "What do you think?"

He looked me over from head to toe, and simply shrugged, averting his gaze. Hiding my hurt feelings the best I could, I ask Toris for the dress he was holding and entered the dressing room once more.

Emil's POV

(Name) looked absolutely beautiful in that dress. Her (h/c) hair and sparkling (e/c) eyes suited it right down to the mark.

"Like, why didn't you tell her how amazing she looked?" Feliks crossed his arms as he questioned me.

"I-I don't know," I admit. "My mind went blank for a second."

"Maybe she was too beautiful?" Toris joked, a small smile adorning his face.

"T-That's not it!"

Feliks smirked his all-knowing smile. "You like her, don't you?"

"No, I don't."

"Yea, you do."

"Nope."

"I can tell," he says, curtly nodding his head.

"How?" I challenge.

"The way you looked away from her," he answers. "You wanted to hide your blushing cheeks, right? Your expression says it all."

I tune out his calm reply, as I stare at the town from the clear, glass window.

This is exactly why I didn't want her to live with me. She's going to ruin everything. But, how could I tell her that?
