The next day, I woke up feeling refreshed. I got up, limping a little but still able to walk at a regular pace. I remembered Nathaniel being at my house but I don't really remember anything else. I walked into the kitchen, where he stood by the stove making breakfast for Indy.

"Momma, you're up!" she said as soon as she saw me walk through the door. Pinko right behind her. "Doctor Tosar said that Pinko is a healthy cat momma. Do you think it had anything to do with us giving him food all the time?" she asked me.

I smiled down at her and caressed her cheek. "Of course it does baby. Food makes anything stronger." I crouched down to her eye level and studied her for a while.

"I hope I'm not a bother but I sorta fell asleep last night. And this morning, your little monster woke me up." he said sticking his tongue out at Indy playfully.

"Nu-uh. You woke me up asking what Momma likes for breakfast." Indy replied, crossing her arms in front of her chest. I laughed at her reaction and shook my head. Nathaniel turned away his, face tomato red, scratching the back of his head in embarrassment.

"That's okay. Let's get cleaned up so we can eat." I said, bending over to look at my daughter. she nodded her head, her curls flying everywhere and ran to the stairs. "Indy, don't run up the stairs. We don't want to have an accident." I said in a stern voice.

She slowed down and I smiled in triumph. "Be back soon." I told Nathaniel and went to help Indy change. It was dark and gloomy outside, kinda how it had been yesterday. Indy picked out some black tights, a pink dress and a jean jacket. "It'll be cold today Indy, sure you want to wear that?" I asked her as she went to pick out her shoes.

"Momma, even on a cloudy day you have to look your best for the men." she said in her adult voice. I tried to hold back the laughter but it seemed more difficult than usual.

"You're right. You have to look glamorous." I said. She held up her chin and started undressing. I helped her into the clothes and she picked out her leather boots.

"I want my hair up Momma, make it look pretty." she said. I smiled at her and put it in a high pony tail, pulling all of the hair out of her face. "Glamorous." she said, jumping off the stool and walking down the stairs.

I laughed and went to my room to change. I slowly entered it, half expecting to find the man in there again. I looked around the room carefully, noticing the closet doors missing. I sighed and went to pick out a pair of black, boot leg jeans. I pulled them on, using a belt to keep them from exposing anything. I grabbed a white tank top and grabbed one of Ethan's light blue dress shirt I usually used to hang around the house.

I put my hair up in a bun with a clip and rolled the sleeves up to my elbows. I slipped into my scetchers and made my way downstairs. Indy was already seated at the table, her head high on her shoulders.

"Hello Mother." she said, her tone very serious.

"Hello Daughter."  I said, confusion clear in my voice. I saw Nathaniel looking for plates. "I'll help you." I said, going to the other side of the kitchen and grabbing three plates. I walked back to Nathaniel, giving Indy a quick glance. "What's up with her?" I asked him.

He shrugged, placing the eggs and bacon on the plates. "I'm not sure, she said something about impressing me. She's so adorable." he said, looking at her. At the same time, he let the spatula drop and hot oil jumped everywhere, burning my arms and exposed chest.

I hissed in pain and pulled away from the stove. I grabbed a paper towel from the rack and wiped away the oil from my skin. "Crap, I'm sorry." he said, trying to help me.

"No it's okay, just turn off the flame and leave everythign to me." I said, putting my hands on my hips, pregnant lady style. "Go sit and I clean up here."

"You sure?" he asked. I nodded and he let out his breath. He took the plates filled with food to the table and gave Indy her plastic princess plate. I finished cleaning up the floor and got some cups and orange juice from the fridge.

I saw Indy dig in and then she looked at me. She gave me a sheepish grin and kept eating. "Want some juice baby?" I asked her. She nodded, not looking up from her plate. I rolled my eyes and filledup her sippy cup.

"Mother, I'm old enough to drink from a grown up cup." she whined. I gave her a flat look and she quickly calmed down. "I'll be okay with a sippy cup." she said, taking a quick sip of the juice.

I sat down, handing Nathaniel his cup and stabbing my bacon with the fork. I took a bite of it and almost moaned at how good it tasted. "This is so good." I said, taking another bite from the eggs. Nathaniel laughed through his nose, not taking his eyes from me.

"Thank you." We finished eating in silence and then I helped Nathaniel clean up. He quickly glanced at the clock hanging over the fridge and cursed silently. "I have to get going." he said.

"You're clothes must be all dried up now. I think I might have an extra toothbrush in the bathroom. I'll go get your clothes and you freshen up." I said, quickly limping my way to the laundry room. The cycle from his clothes had already stopped and they seemed pretty dry.

I quickly ironed his shirt and slacks, taking all the wrinkles off and walked out to the bathroom. I knocked on the door and waited for his reply. "Come in." he said after a few seconds. I opened the door and handed him his clothes. "Thanks Nia, and sorry for the inconvinience." he said, he started undressing in front of me and I looked away.

"Hold on. Let me get out and then you can get ready." I said, closing the door behind me. I went to check on Indy and found her looking through some old photo albums.

"Baby, what are you doing?" I asked her.

She looked concentrated in a photo, her eyebrows scrunched up together. "Momma, I've seen daddy." she told me, holding up a picture of the rime we went camping.
