As the days passed by, I was finally able to get out of bed. I felt fine, but Ethan being the worry rat he is didn't let me move. I was getting ready to go to the bakery when Ethan walked into my room. "Where are you going?" he asked, looking at me. I turned to look at him, smiling.

"I have to go to work." I said. I put on my hat and walked to the door. He quickly pulled out his arm and stopped me from walking past him.

"No." he said flatly. I raised an eyebrowe at him.

"Why not?" I challenged. He sighed and pulled me close to him.

"I can't loose you. I know my father will have vampires lurking around waiting for the moment when I'm not prepared. I can't have you get hurt." he said, touching his forehead to mine. He held my cheeks, looking into my eyes adoringly.

"Look Ethan, I've been going to that bakery since you left. I think I can manage to be alone for one more day." I said, pulling away from him. "Now please, let me pass." I said softly.

"No Nia. You have to listen to me. I can't risk it." he said more roughly.

"Oh, so you disappear for four years and then come back thinking you can tell me what to do? I don't care if it was to protect me, but I don't think that's how it works." I said, pushing past him. He growled and pulled me by the arm. "Let me go Ethan." I said, through clenched teeth.

"Don't be such a hard head." he said, his vice booming over mine. "You are staying and that is final." he said, pulling me back into the room. He closed the door and I could hear him walking down the stairs. I sat back on the bed, surprised at the way he had just talked to me.

I looked at the window and wondered if I would hurt myself from jumping out. I smirked and looked back at the door. "I'm sorry Ethan, but I'm not the same Nia you left four years ago." I whispered. I opened the window and stuck my head out.

"Don't do it Nia." Ethan said behind me. I looked at him, my eyes narrowing. "I swear if you jump out of that window, I will be pissed off."

"Then deal with it." I said, pulling myself through the rest of the way. I walked on the roof, inspecting the distance. "I'll be back soon." I called over my shoulder jumping off the roof. I landed on my two feet, amazed at how good I was able to land.

I straightened my back and continued moving forward. "Nia stop." Ethan called. I turned to the door where he stood, watching me closely. "Please don't do this." he said.

I sighed, coming to a complete halt. "Ethan, if you are so worried, come with me." I said. I waited for him to answer. "Bring Indy too, that way you wont have to be all worried." I said. He nodded and headed back indoors.

I waited a few minutes, hearing him move through the whole house before appearing back at the door. "She's not here." he said. I looked at him, confused.

"What do you mean she isn't there? Weren't you watching her?" I asked him, my voice raising a pitch.

"Look Nia, I can't be watching after my daughter and my wife at the same time." he said.

"You mean our daughter." I hissed. "I'll go check int he back you call Maggie and ask if she's over there." I said, making my way to the wooden fence. I opened it, feeling the hair on the back of my neck raising.

"Indiana!" I called out, looking around. I wans't able to spot her right away, so I went behind the rose bushes. "Indy, if you are playing around, quit it right now." I said, my voice stern.

"Indy isn't here right now." came a female's voice behind me. I quickly spun on my heel and faced her. She had jet black, straight hair that reached her lower back. She was beautiful with aqua green eyes, full pink lips and a straight nose.

I narrowed my eyes, trying to find something wrong with her. "Where is my daughter?" I asked her. She chuckled, smirking.

"I'm afraid you won't ever see her again."

"Why not?" I asked her, my fist clenching. I was loosing my patience.

"I'm going to kill you." she said, her face lighting up. She took a couple of steps forward, her legs covered in black leather skinny pants. I say how her nails changed colors, from the same aqua blue as her eyes to a fiery red. Her face seemed to transform into a very unattractive scowl.

A growl emmitated from within her meant to scare m put I didn't even flinch. "Is that suppose to scare me?" I asked her, mockingly. She growled her response and I laughed. "I guess that hideous look does scare me." I said shrugging. She striked at me and I was able to dodge it.

I spun to look at her and found her straightening her back. "You're fast." she said, her face still ugly as ever. "But you'll wear down eventually." she said, stricking again. This time, I took her head on. I grabbed her by the shoulders and threw her across the lawn.

"I doubt it. If it means saving my girl, then I won't ever give up." I informed her. I could feel the anger rip through my body as she threw her head back, laughing.

"Joey, bring her here." she said, a man appearing at her side with Indy in his arms. She looked scared, frightened. "If you don't do as I say, she will die."

Ethan showed up by the back gates, looking windblown and surprised to see her there. "Danny, what are you doing?" he asked, looking back and forth between the vampire and me.

Danny turned around, cocking her head to the side. "I'm killing her. She is the one that ruined everything for us." she hissed. I started seeing red spots everywhere and wondered if it was due to the fact I was pissed.

"Hey Danny, I don't think you would have been able to be with him even if I didn't exsist." I said, smirking. She turned back to me, growling again.

"Joey, kill her." she said. I saw the other vampire raise his hand and I charged towards him, everything around me turning into flames.

I grabbed him by the neck, burning his fleshed. He screamed in agony and I smiled up at him. He let go of Indy and she ran off, only to be grabbed by Danny. She looked at me terrified, watching as I burned her friend alive.

"Let her go. Unless you want to go down just like your friend her.e" I said, crushing my fist and turning him into ashes. She started backing away, not letting go of Indy, so I ran to her, grabbing her arm. "Let her go." I said, dangerously low.

She let Indy go and pulled out of my grasp, her skin burnt from my touch. I watched her slowly back away from me until she was gone. "Nia," Ethan said, looking at me.

I looked down at Indy and saw her looking at me wide eyed. "Baby, are you okay?" I asked her, my temper already gone. She nodded her head, tears filling her eyes. I hugged her to me and kissed her cheek. "Oh God. I'm so sorry baby. I won't ever let anyone hurt you okay?" I told her.

She pulled away from me, nodding and wiping her eyes. "I love you." I told her.

"I love you too Momma." she said, hugging me again.

"Nia, how did you do that?" Ethan asked, a few feet away from me. I looked at him a little confused.

"Do what?"

"Burn them like that?" he said, looking at the pile of ashes behind us.

"Aren't you able to do that?" I asked him, he shook his head. "I don't know. All I wanted was to get Indy back safe." I said, picking up our daughter. "Is that bad?" I asked him.

"No, that just means you come from one of the original vampire clans. You're not a hybrid, you're a royal true blood." he said, cupping my cheek. "You have every right to the throne and can change any of the rules."
